Why Isn't LEGO Dimensions On PC?
The game is available for Xbox, Playstation, and Wii U, but not for PC.

I have a feeling Dimensions will come to PC eventually, after they squeeze tons of figure sales out of people.

That being said, the game is great, and the supply is good. The only sets that i've found problematic to get are the Ninjago sets, i guess those are very popular.

And i suspect they'd just go making the PC version lazy like Disney did and make it all digital rather then use physical figures.

and FYI PCs do reconize the Dimensions portal, there is a driver for it apparently.

maybe its because you have to buy a plug in platform for the game and you have to get lego figures that work with the pad that you would need:sticky::sticky:
The USB fits into a computer! and the figures are universal!

OK, so I purchased the game, played it and it looks great but expensive. IMO, the only reason this game won't appear on PC is because of a piracy problem. They shouldn't go Disney's route and make a digital version of it, because the PC version of DI is a piece of crap. I know it, because I played it.

No Marvel and Star Wars = no buy anyways, so not that big of a loss for me.

First, they allow writing of code to a figure's base through the portal unit. I think that once the Portal is hacked, people could just write the code for any figures they want to the rewritable bases thereby making the purchase of the figures not necessary for people who cheat like this. It'd be much harder to do this while it's all sitting on a console instead of PC where tools to do this are more easily available. (Not to mention just outright cheating in the game to get figures to show up instead of the ones you bought)
Now that I think about it, the portal rewriting thing could possibly spawn bootleg fgures. Could you imagine the market if someone found out how to unlock a new wave's figures early by months?
tl;dr version: It's a wise market idea to leave it on consoles until at least all the waves of figures are out for at least a few months.

Its simple, on PC it would be possible to mod it to work without the expensive toys

The logic here is flawed. The portal unit is USB, and allegedly there's already a driver for it, so anyone can hook an existing base into a PC and experiment with reading from and writing to figures. A PC version of the game would not needed for this scenario; it could happen regardless, and it is not a valid reason for avoiding a PC release of Dimensions.

Secondly, if cheating is a concern, the game, which most certainly will only be distributed via Steam, could be VAC-enabled.

And lastly, I don't agree that it would be a wise market idea to keep PC users out of the release waves. Doing so could make it more difficult to procure older sets, which may end up discontinued and/or sold out. (I doubt Lego is going to produce every add-on pack in perpetuity.)

Should potential PC players spend boatloads of money stocking up on expansion packs now, without definitively knowing if the game is even going to be released; or should they wait until the game is announced, and risk not being able to play/complete content from sets they can no longer procure?

I think if Lego was going to release Dimensions on PC, they would have done it by now. If they don't do it soon, then it's going to be very frustrating trying to play the older content, especially for anyone just getting into the game or those who held out for the PC version.

Does anyone else buy the packs just for the LEGO? LEGO Cyberman and Dalek... couldn't pass it up.

Dont think lego dimensions would work on PC because it uses an HDMI cable, not sure if Microsoft allows that since windows 10 is out many things only are allowed to work on windows 10 so if the company tries to make it for windows 7 or other versions microsoft wont let them make it.

That's the dumbest excuse I've ever heard. I went to a tech school for computer science. An HDMI cable is supposed to allow HD. Most modern graphics cards either use HDMI or DVI ports, usually both, where you can switch between them. A cable doesn't have operating system requirements. Graphics cards are made to support the latest operating systems.

Yes and a pc can use display port which supports 4k and the game was made on a pc and tested on a pc and all the new games support windows 7 so that why not

I have LD on Wii U and it runs like crap. I'd love to see it on PC!

I wonder if CEMU could come to the rescue? It looks unlikely to come to Switch and i won't be buying that underwhelming portable potato.

That may not happen.... THANK GOD I HAD A XBOX 360 WHEN IT CAME OUT

Cemu could run the game - but how would you put the characters in? The toy-pad won't work in a pc usb port! You'd get to the menu, and then you'd need the toy-pad to continue.

I know but PC's generally come with a USB port or two, I'm sure some clever, coding person could do it!

I say I'm sure, actually I mean I hope ...

I know right! WTH! Im not going to buy any of the sets because of this.

A lot of other Lego games are on Steam.
Its not like they cant make a version for Steam. I'll buy a Starter Set and redeem the Steam code if they do. (Or a chaper basic version. When I can afford too.)
They should also make it compatable with Linux. So Steam Box and Chrome OS users can play it too.

I hope Lego, WB and TT Games hears us.

it was made for consoles but they had no intention to bring it to pc and besides consoles are better for that game anyways cause console gamers are simple people
