The game won't launch
Hi all, I just installed the game on Windows XP (disabled FW, Virus scanners, configured permissions in registry as suggested in another thread) but still game doesn't start from Steam. In the logs are following error messages:

03/15/14 10:07:14 : ERROR: /installscript failed on: D:\lego\steamapps\common\The LEGO® Movie - Videogame\runasadmin.vdf: 267530

Any hint is appreciated.

Thanks

Same here! My son bought the game yesterday. He is under a normal user with family saftey. Nothing will happen when I launch the game. When I run under my profile (administrator) the game will launch. I then reinstalled the game and removed the family settings for my son. Same problem. Then I changed my sons profile so he became a administrator, still same problem. Then I created a new user on the computer. I gave this user admin profile. Same problem.....
So using my sons old profile and the new profile the game will not start. Using my profile on the computer wil llaunch the game. I AHve tried different resolution and reinstalled Active/X etc. Same problem for my son and the new admin user. Anyone that have solved this....

=============

Doesn`t work here.

Windows 8.1 Pro..

The PCs on which I tested my original instructions are both Win7 Pro machines. One is running an AMD Radeon R9 200 (using driver v.14.100.0.0) and a 7790 (using the original driver that shipped with it I think).

BTW, I just tested it on a Win 8.1 laptop (i5-4200) that has been fully patched, and it worked fine out of the box (i.e., no workarounds required).

Are your display drivers up to date? What graphics card are you running?

Call of Duty Advanced Warfare works great via the R9 280 on the same PC; as does Skyrim Ledgenday; as does a ton of other games. Just not the 3 later Lego games.

I yam flumoxed. .

When you change your desktop to 1024x768 and run the game, does the game minimize immediately or stay fullscreen/windowed? How far were you able to get into my instructions before they failed?

Have you tried forcing the game to start in windowed mode?
1. In Steam, right click on the game and select Properties.
2. Click on "Set Launch Options..." and enter, "-windowed".

Also, see this page https://support.steampowered.com/kb_article.php?ref=1040-JWMT-2947
for more command line arguments. Among others, you can force it to autodetect your settings as well as force a screen resolution and bit depth.

SOLVED Content servers unreachable. problems.
FIX: I had to go into IE 8 and reset it (tools, internet options, advanced, press reset) and that fixed the problem. See this article:
