It's a pleasure
I love "Match 3" type games and this one changes the formula enough to make it unique and enjoyable it will be addicting to play.

Looking forward to the PC release.

It's closer to 2048 than the match 3 games.

It's 3 bucks on Switch.
Remember that when it is released here.

There are dozens free clones, including this one, so why pay at all if you can get roughly the same experience for free?

I've tried a few of the free "Suika Game"s on mobile. While I can't speak much for PC, I did play the browser version, and I own the Switch version as well.

There are a few differences between them all:

- What I don't like about most mobile version is the fact that advertisements can interfere with gameplay in some instances, like this game (My Suika) on mobile, reviews had started complaining about ads showing up in the middle of the gameplay rather than watching the ads before you start another game. What I didn't like about this version when I tried it was the fact that the fruits felt like half deflated balloons. There is a major difference in physics compared to the Switch version. I'm also going to add, that My Suika has extra skins and themes you can switch, but unfortunately, they cost money, so I'm afraid, they might do that for the Steam version as well, or charge more than the Switch version.

- The browser version of the Suika game is very buggy. I've had my game frozen several times, so even if it's free, and no ads to deal with, it can ruin the fun, especially if you're trying to beat a high score. The browser version also did not have the "next" fruit, so you can't really figure out where to place your current fruit without knowing what's coming up.

- So far, the best mobile version I've played is called "Watermelon Game: Monkey Land". For the free version, you only watch ads between games, or just pay $3 to play without having to deal with ads. There's also no global competition, so you're pretty much focusing on your own scores. However, I still feel that the Switch version is much more difficult, and the fruits felt less like half deflated balloons.

What do you think about this version? Also I plan to make a better online version somewhere in January, as it's not that complicated to do. If/when I do it, I'll probably upload it to either Kongregate or Newgrounds, possibly both, so check those regularly.

As for mobile versions, I can't recommend one "synthetic watermelon" one (I think that one is in Chinese, and yeah, I can tell Japanese and Chinese apart despite being able to read none) enough, because it has a quite decent physics and the way fruit (and other things, that one has skins too).

I've already stated in my previous reply that I don't like how the physics felt for this game (My Suika) when I tried the mobile version. Every time I've dropped a fruit, it always bounces, and the other thing I didn't like was the constant shaking after the box is half full, and if I remembered, I also didn't like the moment of lag I had to experience after each drop. It's not like I can drop immediately, and that I have to wait a split second before I can drop again. I'm also disappointed in the extra charge for each skin you want to purchase, so it feels cash grabby just for additional artwork that doesn't really add to the game, which I understand. I think an interesting feature that I forgot to mention My Suika has is the fact that they have a time trial mode (I think that's what they called it), where the fruits automatically fall nonstop until it goes over the top, so you're not given the freedom to go figure out where you want to drop the fruits. That reminded me a lot of the "Tetris" feature that everyone has mentioned.

I really liked the Monkeyland version for mobile, and I ended up paying $3 to get rid of the ads because I felt the physics didn't felt like I was dropping bouncy balls or half deflated balloons. The only difference with the Nintendo version is that it has a banana instead of the dekopon (grape + grape), and that they're a little more lenient when it comes to that red bar on the top. It's a little less frustrating and I'm amazed how I made over 7K points last night.

I guess once you play the Switch version, you're always comparing knock offs to it. My issue is mostly because the physics is much different, and the Suika Game on the Switch felt more like they balanced the weight of fruit according to their character, plus that BG music which burned into brain now that I'm constantly thinking about it. :winter2019joyfultearsyul:

As for skins, it's a nice added feature, but I honestly prefer to stick to what I'm used to. Maybe like the Nintendo version, changing the background image and Watermelon to a Pumpkin for their Halloween theme would be enough to not throw me off track when combining the other fruits. I personally would love to see a version dressed in Stardew Valley's fruits, and replacing some of them to unique fruits from the game, like the Stardrop Fruit, Ancient fruit, or Crystal fruit.

Edit: I went back to My Suika on mobile to give it another chance. From this second time around, the physics to the game feels smoother, but something that I realize is that the graphics for the fruits used for their classic skin, as well as the "bump" sound effects is the exact same from Nintendo's version. I've also managed to make over 3,000 points, and to be fair, the confetti for 3K points is great, but it just kept going until I made a game over and that's very distracting to play. I also remembered why I uninstalled the game in the first place and that was because I couldn't figure out how to turn off the phone vibrations. I've tried going into settings, but nothing worked, so there's that. They also have two different game modes like Tetris: Speed and Rescue, which is what makes My Suika shine. Compared to Nintendo's game, like Monkeyland, it's also too lenient when it comes to losing the game. All in all, a fair game, except the extra cost for money, and ad interruptions.

Thank you for the feedback!

To turn off phone vibrations, you can do this from the settings in the main menu, as well as in the game by clicking the settings button in the bottom right of the screen!

There was a bug with this in the past, but it should be fixed in the latest version (1.1.7).

Feedback regarding game difficulty is tricky, as we get reviews for the game being too difficult for some users, while too easy/lenient for others, but I believe we've developed a good balance.

Yes, I've noticed that this was fixed. Thank you for fixing that! I hope you can make the confetti animation short as well. I don't necessarily think 3,000 points should be the general goal to reach. Rather, maybe when the player gets a suika, the confetti plays for a short duration might feel more accomplished.

You can, perhaps create a easy, normal, and difficult levels to allow the player to set their game difficulty of choice. Like Tetris, and many games on the market do.

We actually had a tester earlier today who went on to score 6000+ state the same thing. We've shortened the confetti animation to only 10 seconds, and this will be going out in the next update.

I'll discuss with the team showing the confetti when a suika is obtained, rather than the 3000 points.

Thank you for all the feedback! It's clear that you have done a lot of research on the watermelon merge game genre.
