Doctor's High-Power Pistol

Hello,

I once found the Doctor nearer the beginning of my playthrough of Undead Nightmare and helped him the one time. I had come across him again once more sometime after that, but hadn't helped him. Then, I learned it's the ONLY way to get the High Powered Pistol in Undead Nightmare.
Please help? I've been going in circles around the map from Mexico to America, over and over again. I must've been at it for more than 7× Hours now, and I have not found him once!

It’s a random encounter. When you see a guy defending a position with a Gatling gun, you need to help him to kill off zombies attacking him and then capture a live one. Do this 4-6 Times (random encounters) and he will give you the high power pistol.

I've been looking for him too, apparently if you don't do his quests or you kill him, he despawns from what I seen, and just so you know you don't need it to 100% the DLC, it's optional but I still want it. Let me know if you came across the doctor.

During my run, I ran into him about a dozen times and I only helped him twice, but that was before I realized he gives you that pistol. It took me like 12+ hours of searching to find the quack after that.

I can't guarantee the odds are any higher there than anywhere else, but my preferred searching spot was the Tall Trees region, slowly circling the area where the bear icon is on the map. That's where I found him most often. As I'm typing this, I decided to test it and it only took me about 15 minutes of searching to find him again.

That said, if you do decide to try your luck up there, you're going to need to check your surroundings constantly for any surprise cougars or bears, and preferably never dismount your horse unless absolutely necessary.
