Saving?

How do you save your game ? I just outraced the owner. Drove her to town. Saw the sheriff. and was heading to the saloon when I had to stop. Nothing was saved. Damn.

Normally, unless you enable cheats or disable the setting, the game should autosave after completion of notable events such as story missions or other activities. If autosaving is disabled for you, you can try enabling it through "Options > Gameplay" and toggling it on.

For manual saving, the first way is sleeping in a bed at any safe house you've purchased or rented, they're marked on the map with a green house icon. The one you wake up in at MacFarlane's Ranch is one you get for free. Alternatively, when you're in the wilderness, you can open the inventory, select the Kit tab and use the Campfire to rest and save the game.

Thanks. I remember now. Not sure why the game sent me back to the ranch after so many events though. Guess its because I dont have any $$$$$.
