Is this game related to RDR2, sry if stupid question, but if we going by timeline RDR2 released years ago while this one is realising this year, are the 2 games related? If they are why did they start with the sequel first? But maybe they aren't idk they look very similar and also semilar name

RDR 2 Timeline is before RDR 1. So RDR 1 plays after RDR 2

RDR1 was a console game. and RDR2 was a prequel that didn't require you to play the first game so they just released RDR2 first on PC. that character on RDR1 steam store banner is the same John Marston from RDR2. he's the main character in RDR1.

Yes, this is basically a direct sequel to RDR2, even though it originally came out in 2010. You continue the story as John Marston the way you left in RDR2.

PC is still missing Red Dead Revolver game. Even though it is single player game, i would love to see if on here. I still own my copy on ps2. The game is also in the red dead world i feel is cannon, although it is considered in a different universe.

Rockstar already said that it's a different universe. Not the same world, not the same timeline.

It's more like a Final Fantasy affair... in which you can look at 2 different games like FF7 and FF8 for example, and even though they are the same franchise, it's a completely separate world and story. Totally unrelated.

I know its already answered but to clarify
Arthurs story takes place in 1899, with the original Van Der Linde gangs downfall. John and his family escape, and the Epilogue takes place in 1907 with John Marston becoming a family man. The pinkertons find him, and so begins RDR1 in 1911. Without spoiling the story, the game progresses to 1914. (RDR1 was released in 2010 on consoles, long before RDR2.)
