It was good, but not to repay full price for a port.
I would argue 2, on paper, is a "better game" (better being subjective as it is,) in terms of complexity, features, fidelity obviously, etc. And it's a great story and experience too. But something about the first game just felt so much more riveting and engrossing to me, and I just wanted to live in that game.
And I was haunted by it when it ended. There are only a handful of what I consider "modern" games that I view as "classics" that I would happily revisit via remasters and remakes. This is one of them for me. Not sure 2 would be.
You may not personally care for it as much as the first one but for something to be a classic it has to be something that stands the test of time and still be talked about. Citizen Kane may not be my favorite movie not by a long shot but is it a classic? Definitely
RDR2 had a good protag, some good side characters, some awful side characters and good customization.
RDR had worse customization but great protage and side characters.
I think RDR is tops, will replay but RDR2 was a one and done for me.
Never owned a console.
Loved Red dead 2 on my pc.
If this is better, has to be worth the money.
Great can’t wait 👍
