How to turn on cloud saving after first declining?
So when i first installed the game on steam deck/PC it asked me to use rockstar cloud i clicked "Not Now" cause i thought steam uses it's cloud saving already. Got done with the first mission on the deck went to sleep, and then next day decided to play on PC. I realized that it doesn't use steam cloud save so I figure OK, let me just go back and activate cloud saving in rockstar. Cant for the life of me find the option. I searched online and everyone keeps telling me to use social club but when I go to rockstar.com, social club is just the general launcher the option is not there after I install. I tried a complete uninstall and reinstall of both the game and the launcher and still nothing.

Launch the game, wait a short while for the RGL overlay to load up and open it by pressing either the [Home] key on keyboard, or [Back + RB] on a controller. Click the gear icon next to your username on the upper right, pick Settings, then Game Settings, and you should see the option to enable cloud saves.

Thank you so much, was trying to figure this out for over an hour.

I’m going to be the idiot, what is the BACK button being referenced here
"Back" is Xbox 360 controller terminology, it's the "Select" button in more classic terms, located near the left analog stick and/or D-pad. Modern controllers keep screwing with the layout so it's hard to really specify what used to be called Start and Select. I think it's clicking the left side of the touchpad on a PS4 (and PS5?) controller, or maybe pressing the Share button. Probably the View button on Xbox One/Series controllers, or the Minus (-) button on Switch Pro controller. Dunno what the button is called on Steam Deck but I presume it's the View button looking one by the left stick and D-pad.
Then what? The option keeps toggling back to disabled when I leave the settings page

That I can't really help you with, it should stay enabled when you switch it on. If for some reason it keeps disabling itself, I don't know what the problem could be.

I had this same issue after. . . There is some file called cloud.tf or something like that you have to delete. I can't remember exactly. . . For me it was in a red dead redemption folder other than the one that has the exe file. I basically did a search for red dead redemption found the "other folder" and deleted it. I also read some people say that they had to uninstall the game first and then find the extra folders and just delete everything, but that's a last resort as it will erase your local saved game.

Finally solved the problem.

Go to:

C:\Program Files\Rockstar Games\Launcher\Profiles\755F56E4\

Delete (and make a copy if you want) Cloudsavedata.dat

Reopen the game.
