Combined with their somewhat non-existent tire model, that doesn't really model heat, wear, peak grip with transition to wear and less grip is why it's very difficult to catch a slide. The natural responses one would make while in a real car, the responses taught and learned at driving schools don't work well because the game is unrealistic.
You CANNOT take real world setup values, plug them into iracing and expect a result. The fact that setups have to be so fudged to get the car to work speaks volumes about the physics.
Only one simulator I know of where real values work but it has its own other issues.
If the real counterpart to the cars in iracing handled like they do in the game, drivers would be dying every weekend.
I've been in a real race car as a passenger with a very good driver and I've had the opportunity to run a real race car on a track and the first thing you realize is even when the car begins to get really pushed, just how much grip it has and how stable it is. Not this driving on ice, slow speed spin crap this game is infected with.
iracing has really brainwashed the unknowing masses with their 'i' mentality like apple. Because it's expensive, it must be good. The fanboy base is nauseating with the multi thousand dollar rigs with all kinds of multi-screen, button box, direct drive wheels, load cell this, that, and the other, with cockpits and all kinds of HUD displays and most people can't finish a race consistently. 5%-10% of the subscribers can drive... maybe. The rest are weapons. A typical race with a field of 20 is reduced to 1/2 by the end.
