My first Oval race, and my last........
My first Carb cup race, starting from the back.......

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NgySU-gw9O0

Skip to 01:05 for the race if you wish.

I entered it out of curiousity as i've seen a lot of people talking about it, and I want to share my experience, as a somewhat review......

Never going back haha

Ps, excuse my language

Was a laugh indeed! looking back on it, it cracks me up.

I made the mistake of going into the race focused trying to not have contact, I was clearly almost the only one haha

Good god I almost tried this, but glad stuck to circuit, why are ppl talking so much? as I tell my apprentice at work too much yakka your not working hard enough, seems more like a social gathering while enjoying a drive down the motorway lol

I try not to hate on the oval guys but man I bet the overall quality would be better if they tried a bit of circuit racing and see what car handlings all about, and maybe stop yakking like a bunch of school girls, kinda ironic they where giving a female nascar driver ♥♥♥♥ at start prob run circles round these gurls.

lmao!

+1 to this

XD

its also ironic they're giving any driver ♥♥♥♥, since %50 of the field cant do one lap without making contact.

I think i just got the worst of the worst of lobbies here!

Hopefully it wasn't as bad as that lobby man!

I was lucky enough to get out of that hole in just a few days. Road is where it's at, screw oval. I'm a very defensive racer, meaning I have good spatial awareness and when something like that happens I try to stay out of everyone's way haha. (I used to race go karts)

You're from exactly the same background as me dude, I was in Karts from 7 and then with the Nat B when i was older. Loved them things!

Funny thing is, I raced at a few tracks, all of which were clay oval lol (Damn rednecks) Briggs & Straton engine. I raced for about 6 years, 10-16 after that I gave it up. All my friends stopped racing as well as the racing classes I was in, the local track began to empty and I wasn't driving 2+ hours to race a couple times.

That Clay must have been a nightmare! I raced mainly Tarmac and the odd indoor track (one had two levels lol), we raced the twin Honda engine's, absolutely rapid little things haha

Yeah it's a shame when it dies down like that, a lot of our tracks went bust and sold out or just got too expensive. I raced karts till I was 15, then tried the Clio 172 but money was tight and I began training for the military in which I stayed, never went back.

I'd happily go back to karting over anything!

Yea, the clay was a pain in the ass. After every race/track night the next day we'd open the trailer and have to clean every thing lol. Talking about more than a few pounds of clay dried onto the fiberglass body of the kart, not to mention the go-kart trailer (Which was an enclosed car hauler) had the clay everywhere from running in and out of it so much. I'd love to go back to karting but never will I do clay again, I was tutored on tarmac lol, with a different kart and setup. Was a hell of a lot better, and cleaner too. I've never been in any bad wrecks besides one that sent me airborn. It was like the 2nd to last lap, 3 wide and I was on the inside, I hit something hard enough the inside tire broke off the wishbone and I ended up running it over (Doing 40+) and I went airborn and the photographer at that track snapped a picture with me in the air getting ready for lift off, was a fun night lol.

Damn man! sounded a nightmare at some points! haha, sounds an amazing laugh though!

You will learn more car control, throttle control and spatial awareness from oval racing than road racing.
Nascar sanctioned oval racing cars, not the street stock etc.

Heres a couple of videos showing the fun and how close oval racing can be

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nar2nJFlvOU

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=W0ef2AjgTIs

Check out the rest of the videos on my channel if you want(also some boring road ones :P )

That's the thing about the Rookie Street Stocks. That is the absolute worst example of oval racing on the service lol.
