How to enable different cockpit view (Chase view)

I've done some searching on reddit and most replies are you have to get use to the cockpit viw as this is a SIM.....I say BS!! I hate the cockpit view for formula and Indy cars. The roll bar going down the front windshield right down the middle sucks in my opinion. Is there a way to change the view while driving? (near chase, far chase, ect)

No it isn't. iRacing enforces cockpit, with only exception for real handicapped people.

You can adjust your view in the following way:

Open a Test Session with the car you want to adjust (track does not matter).
- Goto the options and check the box to use "custom controls for this car" on the "option" tab
- Drive your car a 100 mtrs.
- Exit the car.
- Set the view for the replay to cockpit and start your replay and pause it.
- Press CTRL+F12 and a screen pops up with a lot of camera settings
- Adjust to your liking
- Start driving and you 'll have your custom view (it's persistent, so only 1 time needed)

Also you can "hide obstructions" in the graphics menu. This will make the halo post transparent.
