After buying on steam do you need to make an iracing account?

Yes an iracing account is required because you use your real name not a steam name.

I bought it on steam years ago. I then got iracing again not through steam recently and deleted the game from library asked for a new key under my info on the iRacing membership site and it will generate a new key, idk if it matters but steam has been keeping track of my hours. Good luck!
