Stuck in a download loop

Just renewed my iracing subscription via steam. Downloaded the game fine, or so I thought.

Every time I start the game I get the same 2mb compulsory update. Even after downloading it and clicking done as prompted by the wizard. The next time I start the game it tells me to do the same download and I'm unable to progress any further.

Any ideas?

Kill iracing processes in task manager first. It cant update and run at the same time.
