Why has command prompt opened ?

Hi guys just finished downloading went on to steam pressed the play icon and my windows command prompt popped up with file location and the waiting command status. Whts that all about? Never had to do that on a game before. What do I do now?. I am not computer savvy in any way shape or form so simple as possible please :) thanks

I believe the command prompt is to launch the browser. When you start iracing through Steam, it opens your browser as the game is lunched through a web application, look for it. You can play the game without lunching from steam. Go to the iracing website and log in from there directly, it is much faster.

I cant' log in directly from the iracing website because it was a steam purchase. That may be what's happening

No, that's not what's happening. The site has a spot of members who ♥♥♥♥♥♥ themsel- I mean bought iRacing via Steam can log in. I can stretch it to see the command prompt opening when you launch from here, although it shouldn't even be open long enough for you to notice, but trying to log into the member site directly shouldn't bring up the command prompt. If it is, you've got something else going on.
