Low Budget direct drive wheels
I want to upgrade to a direct drive wheel from my g923, but I'm not sure which would be a good option. I don't wanna go crazy on the budget, my limit is 600 euro for base and wheel. I don't really need pedals as I already have decent ones for my needs.

What do you guys recommend?

When it comes to upgradeability, I would recommend Fanatec. because when you buy a Moza R5 wheel, you cannot change the steering wheel, you cannot upgrade the max. torque (in csl dd you can upgrade from 5nm to 8.) and when it comes to pedals, if you buy an r5 wheel base, you can only upgrade via usb but for your case, it would not be a problem I think.

That's not true you absolutely can upgrade the wheel on the moza R5 lol
Fanatec

I think he was talking about the base upgrading. On fanatec you buy that thing that enables your 5nm base to do 8nm. No such thing on Moza afaik. If you want to upgrade, you change the entire thing.

On topic tho, i rock a g27 now, but just ordered the R9 Moza bundle yesterday. I think that i'd be happy with whatever DD to be honest as the jump from this ancient wheel to anything should be huge.

The R5 bundle

im a casual player/driver, anything above would be a bit of an overkill imo. and fanatec might or might not have bad customer support, i dont really know that based on the replys, so im not taking any risks here.

im sure it will be an upgrade to the ol' logitech wheel

Got CSL elite pedals v2 a couple of days ago from Fanatec. 2 days prior this Fanatec order i placed one for a MOZA R9 bundle. So..my pedals arrived in a week or so, while my MOZA order is still "processing"..:D

I upgraded from a G29 some time back to a R9 wheel base with SP pedals, switching between CS and KS wheel as needed. There are options with Moza, anyone saying otherwise is either lying or being wilfully ignorant. There's plenty of options within the Moza eco system as well as support for other brands. I don't have have first hand experience with Fanatec but I will say that their reputation stinks and I have friends that have experience with them. Products take forever to arrive and Fanatec have next to zero communication during the shipping process. This isn't something you need to take my word on, just visit their official forums. There's also issues with the wheel shaft and quick release being of poor build quality and causing problems. They do have a QR2 but that can cost cost extra. They do have a good amount of versatility in terms of options but they're not a company I'd trust with my hard earned money. It's your choice and I'm not here to fanboy. Ultimately it comes down to your research and priorities. But do you really want to end up ordering something, waiting months for it arrive with no communication and then if there's a fault you have to through it all over again plus the returns process? I will say that going from a G29 to direct drive will be a game changer whatever you go with. Lastly Moza pedals are generally considered a weak point so depending on your budget you may want to try another brand for those.

I hope that helps but really you'd better off seeking advice from somewhere more tech savvy and is more helpful. Hubs tend to be a cess pool and don't care if you waste your money as long as they have their confirmation bias validated. As I like to say..... Where there's Steam, there's s***!
