Windows 10 micro stutter

I know this is a common issue and I've read through a million threads on the iRacing forum searching for answers. Anyone else here experiencing the same issue? I can't seem to find a solution and it's driving me insane. I haven't done a race since I upgraded to Windows 10 last year because of this issue.

Have you tried disabling prefetch?

Try without vsync and no frame limits. For me it's the better combo, not perfect but almost playable everywhere.

Just read about that and disabled the service. I'll mess around for a bit and see if it fixed it.

I've tried that too and it didn't seem to make much of a difference for me personally.

short : Rolled back to windows 7

Longer : dunno why, but somehow when under windows 10 the game stutters, if i ran MSI afterburner to see how busy my CPU/GPU they where both 50%. Dunno wich fault it is, but the last 3 months with iracing + windows 10 was crap.

Disabling superfetch seems like it helped. But now I'm experiencing stutters when people join or disconnect from the server Im in.

They have come up with a temporary solution on the iRacing forums. It seems to fixing the problem for a lot of people. I tried it and it worked for me. Even around the Nurburgring GP, where it stuttered badly for me, is quite smooth now.

Also clearly has a terrible PC if he can't handle Win10. I think it's the best OS yet, all the good bits of 7 and 8 put together, with a nicer, cleaner interface. If you hate Win10 because you are concerned about the privacy thing then put on your tin foil hat and stop using any internet-connected devices, because they already know everything about you, they are just openly telling us they are collecting our data now.

new patch due monday (was meant to come today, but delayed). the patch resolves the issue caused by popcorn FX forceing to game to run all on one cpu core, causing stutters. Cant wait for this

New patch coming this week, unsure about date. But it will fix the micro stuttering.

My old system running an RX590 and an i7 6700 never stuttered. I upgraded to an RX5700 and a Ryzen 7 and the stuttering started. After much experimenting, I believe the issue came down to an extra drive I added to the new system. Previously I had iRacing installed on an SSD and it was my only drive. I added a backup hybrid drive in my new system. When I disconnected the new drive all the stuttering stopped. This is probably an OS issue, in reality, but I couldn't sort out specifically what to disable so nixing the drive was the easiest thing to do.
