Need to be VERY careful with iRacing

New to sim racing I decided to try a promotion for iRacing. It is a good thing I didn't spend a lot of money. As a brand new racer in iracing I did some testing and entered my FIRST race as a ROOKIE racing along side other ROOKIES. I went into the race trying as hard as possible to get the right times and lines down but was involved in an accident...instead of just leaving like 99% did I went in for repair and came back out to gain some stats. With in 2 laps the leader came around and even though I went so high I scraped the wall to get out of his way he slammed right in the back of me...Now r3emeber I said were all ROOKIES here...not a big deal right ? I finish the race like 7th or something cause I stayed. 3 days later I get an offical email from iRacinfg saying he reported "ME?" o.O and iRacing suspended my account for 1 week...WOW..lol

So it seems its VERY easy to harrass people in iRacing and ruin their NEW experience to the sim and iRacing just by using the reporting tool. Now at $100 a year I m not sure I want to risk money like that on a griefer loop hole like that. Ive since turned off my reoccurring payment and will make a descision soon about if Ill continue with a regular subscription. Too bad because I did think it was fun, but for the rookies and the amount of time we have in the game it seems like iRacing is shooting themselves in the foot here and loosing a lot of subscriptions. They need to investigate those reports a little better. Most likely an employee that didn't wanna take the time to review it.

I guess accidents and confusion aren't allowed even with rookies in their first days. :( The bad part is I didn't even think twice about him smashing right into my rear end up near the wall, but I guess he did....lol

So at $100 for the regular subscription id say BE VERY CAREFUL and decide well on if it's worth it and something you wanna continue with before renewed payment occurs based on your experience in the beginning.

Share the replay, because Im not buying your story.... iRacing staff is really careful with bans to the point to be really permissive saying almost all the time that all of those are racing incidents and not worthy of any warning or bans, also... the first you should get from the staff is a warning and "dont do it again" kind of stuff, a straight ban?.... If this is true I think you must have done something really bad on that race, driving and also on the chat/mic.

Share the replay or didnt happen...

Ps: More than 500+ races on my end and Ive never been protested.... and I race oval and road.

I didn't save a replay of a race I was in 2 accidents in and finished 7th 3 laps down..lol But the point of my post is were all like just a couple days into racing at this point and iracing is issuing week suspensions to those players/racers...OMG there s going to be tons of wreaks and hot heads... seems like they ruined my experience with such strict policies for people just starting and also shooting themselves in the foot on subscriptions. Most of the people in the starting rookie classes are trying to use their keyboards or game pads at this point before they learn its not going to work well...I certainly expected a lot of wrecks in this stage of the game.

Iracing dont usually ban for just normal wrecking, I tell you this again: you should have done something really bad on that race, or you were protested from a lot of drivers and on other races you did the same thing...

This is not mario kart were you are allowed to wreck every single time, even taking out the leaders, my God...., this is a bit more serious than that and as you said, you should be careful with your behavior, in and off the track. Maybe iRacing is not for you and you need something more casual were you can perform driving with your keyboard.

and like he said and i will re-iterate, this is VERY uncommon and you must have done something more. I was crashed, crashed into people, and been annoyed with people over the mic all through my rookie license, and not ONCE was i even looked at. You must have been doing SOMETHING that was against the rules or flat out trolling to be banned for a week after only playing a couple of days.

Are you sure you drove the track in the right direction?
Okay this is not the time or the topic for jokes, but as already said, iRacing usualy don't ban driver. Specialy new driver. You are a potential customer. Even a 1h-ban would be too much! 50% of the Rookies can't drive and wreck them self. I don't understand how iRacing could do something like you said/experienced and ban a new customer.
I hope you can still enjoy iRacing. I can imagine it's not that easy after you got punished for nothing.

On the higher level you usually don't get protested. If you have a problem with a driver just talk to him. Doesn't matter what you did, there should be no reason to file a protest!

Honestly, iRacing is very lenient about the protests. You most likely screwed up significantly.

First rule is to get out of Rookies, racing is better after that, just race, you will have good ones and bad ones but you will learn to judge how to avoid and will gain SR eventually, just do everything you can to get out of Rookies

You're lying, simple as that. I'm with iRacing since 2012. I've been protested twice for retaliation, meaning I wrecked another driver on purpose for damaging my car. Pretty immature from my part, I regretted later, but I did it. Do you know what I got from those? A warning.

Now, you're saying you got suspended for doing nothing? Yeah right... like someone else already said, iRacing doesn't want to suspend people, specially people new to the game who are potential costumers... I've seen guys like you there, making all kinds of stupid ♥♥♥♥ on track and then play victim.

If you got suspended, that means it wasn't your first (or second, or third) time doing something stupid in a short period of time.

You don't get banned just because you are protested. You took out the race leader, and he was upset. He protested you, and sent iRacing a replay to review. They watched it, and agreed with him.

You need to practice before you commit to a race. You can't just jump in and create total havok. Some people take it seriously, you were apparently way off the pace, probably all over the track, and you robbed someone of his/her win.

One of the great selling points of iRacing is that they can and will remove problem drivers. Don't be a problem. I'm into my sixth year and I've never been reported for anything.

They are anything but easy...I guess they figure they already got you $100 for the year..who cares if they suspend your account after you gave them the money...easy enough to starts businesses, much harder to run them and keep customers. Thats professionalizim I don't see these people having.
