The balance in this game is about racing, aka. driving laps around a track. The best way to achieve that is to minimize the impact of something like a pit-stop.
'Real life' -> so you want 4 friends smashing keyboards for you to quicker pit? A piece of software-program will never be 'real life realistic'
You want perks? aka Call of Duty? The more you play and the more you pit, the faster your crew gets? Or buy real fast tools?
Complain about apps that anyone can use by choice or not. What's the problem here? If the app gives you the same optimal result that you can calculate by hand? Who cares about that?
What do you want?
Pay2win pitcrews? The faster they are the more they cost?
In iRacing you win because you eventually become a better driver. You can focus on driving without having to worry that someone has some more perks or spend more money on his pitcrew than you did.
