Can I Race Alone Against Bots?
Can all (or any) of the disciplines be raced alone, against only computer opponents?

...or is PvP forced?

Wow, thanks VERY much for that list...very helpful!

So I'm wondering then, for the Nascar fans among the players here... when it comes to racing the NASCAR content....is the gameplay (player car physics and AI behavior) good enough to call this a NR2003 replacement...or are we not there yet do you think?
I think wikipedia has a good anweser to that question:
"The company behind iRacing was established in Bedford, Massachusetts in September 2004 by David Kaemmer and John W. Henry after the demise of Papyrus Design Group, which Kaemmer had also co-founded. The iRacing service has been in development since then, using code from Papyrus' NASCAR Racing 2003 Season as a starting point."

If you don't plan to race online then paying a monthly fee for iRacing would be a waste of your money since the fee is basically for access to the excellent online racing servers. Pretty much any other racing game out there has better AI bots and there's no monthly fee to play them.
There is no decent nascar sim racer on the market today which has solid physics and solid AI. The last one we had which was any good was NR2003...so don't say it's not worth it if someone simply doesn't use it to run it in PvP mode.

PvP mode is only 1 aspect of a sim, and for some...the ability to run with AI and excellent physics may be worth paying for.

Paying $80 - $130 every year (excluding buying the required content) to play an offline NASCAR game vs bots seems excessive. But maybe that's just me.

If you plan doing some PvP as well then yeah, it's probably worth it.
