Full of wreckers
Got into iRacing 2-3 days ago, just got my license upgraded to C, thought would be a bit better than Rookie or even D, no ... first C race, T1 carnage instantly killed ... really ... what the hell ? Are people really paying subscriptions and buying cars & tracks to ruin others day ?

I'm 1 or 2 races away from B, hopefully I can reach A at the end of this week, maybe I will find less idiots.

Dimm, unfortunately you won’t. You will have a few races that will be fantastic. But usually half the field wants to win in the first couple of laps and the idiots live. The other day I was in a wreck because 2 cars wrecked ahead of me and one went up to the wall and hit me. 8 minutes of repairs later I was in the track turning laps to see if my SR wouldn’t be affected as bad. I stayed high at the leaders request and low and behold some moron running middle of the leader lap (maybe 9th place) can’t keep control of his car in the straight and side swipes me. The best part is I get “we are racing here, you need to get off the track!” The 1-5 place had no issues and this idiot can’t control his car running straight but wants to tell me to get off the track lol.
Anyway, I usually don’t put my all into the races because I worry too much about SR. I wish they could adjust that. Good luck to you.

This is actually a shame, I expected much higher standards from iRacers in general, I've met a fair share of good drivers, but most are complete idiots, the kind of idiots you'd expect to meet on a public server in any other sim, completely overdriving every single corner making you drive absurd racing lines to avoid them bumping into your rear, poor racecraft and poor sportsmanship too ... I'm not the best driver in the world but come on, out of 10 races I maybe have a chance of surviving 2 or 3 at best, and this when I qualify in top5, when I qualify anything lower I already know what's up, the usual 4-wide idiots surrounding me on the first corner, and like you said, if I manage to survive the first lap I end getting my race ruinned by some idiot who lost control and takes me with him or someone re-joining the track without even looking what's going on around.

Dimm,I agree. Yes, I know quite a few of the regulars who you see in most races and they are fantastic drivers and professionals online people. A field full of those types would be great. I’m not great either. As a matter fact if you check my stats out, I’m a middle of the pack finisher. A lot of this has to do with the fear of losing SR, so I will submit a position to stay “safe.” Iracing destroyed all racing games for me because of the immersion. I love the online seasons and realism. I race hard in the carb cup but it doesn’t feel the same because it doesn’t give that profession feeling. It’s funny because I don’t care so much for my iracing as I do my SR. I love the xfinity and monster cup cars, and that’s what I want to play. So my races end up being me trying to build SR rather than actually racing. It’s still a great game. When AI comes to nascar here, I will be gold.

Literally impossible to race, apparently Senna has reincarnated and he's hauting me, can't finish a damn race, probably my first and last subscription here on iRacing. What's the point of paying when you keep getting your races ruinned by idiots who constantly go for gaps that don't exist ? ... Only problem is, there's apparently no solution to this other than finding a group that hosts races and such, because idiots are plaguing every single sim available on the market, and even this solution isn't perfect, mostly these groups only host races 1 time a week.

try some different series. dont do imsa. imsa is statistically the worst series. F3 and skippy have the new damage model which makes people be much more causeous - they actually break. I recommend giving the F3 (or skippy) a go before you quit Lol

Gonna have to try a different series, hopefully I can farm some good stats and better GT3 / GTE series will open up for me, thanks for the tip.

My issue is that I’m only interested in NASCAR. Driving with only left turns is extremely difficult for some racers. I’m going to hang in there though, because AI racing will save the game for me. I don’t mind wrecking, and everyone makes mistakes, including me. But losing a license class due to others’ mistakes Also emphasis on “also” takes the desire to try and the fun out of it.

My last IMSA race, honestly, won't even bother anymore doing any of this popular series untill I get my license upgraded to A.

Your licence class decides what series you can participate in, your iRating decides what skill level you will be racing against.

My license is B (soon getting A), my iRating is fairly low because I end up withdrawing most of the races, I don't really fancy sitting in pits for 10 minutes for repairs after being taken out to finish in last position.

I'm not the best driver out there, but I'm very decent, and I met many skilled drivers, but you need just 1 bad driver in the entire session to ruin your race.

the first video really was bad luck, but the second one was predictable. these idiots always drive forward in these situations and they dont care about others. So you would have to drive more into the grass, but generally try to pass at their backside. I know its easier to say this after it happened. Idiots everywhere...
