Telemetry folder missing

new to iracing... The doc I have found claims the telemetry folder should be under C:\Users\profile\Documents\iRacing\telmetry but I have every folder but this one... The game plays fine, I get the live telemetry in game with the wheel and pedals in the lower left.. But I cant find where the data is stored. Im trying to locate this for the z1simwheel analyzer.

Just a guess, but maybe you have to first press <alt>-L to start the telemetry functionality.
