Recieve Throughput Fell To Unacceptable Level
I got iRacing 4 days ago, and at first I found it to be one of the funnest and best racing sims to ever use. The was on day 1. However from day 2 up to now, I've been getting an extremely irritating problem. Whenever I enter ANY online session for open practice, about 5-10 minutes into the session, I'm booted out of my ca and out of the session with the message: "Recieve throughput fell to unacceptable level. Closing network device. Closing channel." The only way to fix this is to leave the sim, withdraw/forfeit the current session I'm in, and then re-enter it. But then of course the problem still shows up. I'm not sure what's triggered this. I entered 3 online sessions on my first day, and it worked completely normally, finished the sessions. I have changed 0 settings on my hardware, computer settings, or settings within iRacing. I've tried contacting iRacing support about this several times. I sent them an email when I first got the problem, to which I've been waiting nearly 3 days for a response to. I've also tried calling their phone number about a dozen times, but it seems like it's broken because whether it be morning, afternoon or evening, I'm always calling outside of their buisness hours. Does anybody know what is causing the problem, and if there is a solution to this? I would hate to have wasted over 100 bucks on a game I can't even use.

Something about your internet connection, between you and the server, is causing problems. If there is a long enough break in communications, you are disconnected. Other than that, I do not know what you need to do top fix it. I do know a hard wired connectoion is best, people who play via wireless have connection problems and lag

Just so you know, you do NOT need to withdraw/forfeit. You just need to wait. I know if you are in a race, it seems like a lifetime before it will let you back in, but it will give you the green "join" button after a minute or so. So at least if you are in a race and you get booted, you can rejoin that race and salvage a little iRating. If you click withdraw, that's it. You are out of that race officially.

If you need help, it really is better to ask in the official forums. Sure, there are some jerks with wise remarks, but there are plenty who will help and some of them are pretty clever at problem solving

Question: Are you using a netgear router?

Yes I am.

Those for whatever reason just stop sending to the iRacing servers after a few minutes due to their own internal firewall. They are reaching out to Netgear about it but it only affects their routers. :/

Using a different router or installing DD-WRT firmware helps.

Any idea where I can install a DD-WRT firmware? How to I go about doing this?
