Downshift problems in the Corvette C6 and Ford GT
I've noticed wth these cars and a few others that even with auto clutch enabled the car won't downshift without the use of a clutch. I have a G29 with paddles. Other cars like the Holden V8, Cadillac CTV, Mazda MX downshift with no problems

I can only assume I have something set incorrectly.

I sorted it out. Needed to have auto blip enabled apparently.

No, you need to manually blip the accelerator when downshift. Please remove autoblip.

I have a clutch pedal but only paddle shifters, no stick. How would I put the car in neutral during the blip with paddle shifters?

Don't follow this advice, there is nothing wrong with using autoblip at all. If you do feel confident in changing your driving style though either learn heel-toe shifting (if you right foot brake) or just put your foot on the throttle on downshift (if you left foot brake).

Referencing your question Nakadai, I think the only way you can put it in neutral with paddles is by shifting down from first gear. It is probably possible by doing other things as I have ended up in neutral before when expecting to downshift to second for example, but I wouldn't be able to say how I do it, as I never do it on purpose.

I wasn't say it's wrong to use autoblip, but you just need 30 minutes of training to learn to manually blip on downshift and it's a lot more rewarding with lower lap times and more driving enjoyment. If you want to be competitive and want to get the most from this game you have to learn these little things.

Cool. No problem. Thanx for the advice. Once I get the proper hardware I plan to put in the time to learn proper heal and toe. I've driven manual shift cars in real life although using the clutch with the paddles feels very strange of course.

Thanx for the information and responses !

Apparently enabling auto blip enables auto clutch as well where as only enabling auto clutch means you have to manually blip. Is this correct ? In other racing sims auto blip and auto clutch are separate check boxes.
