No Option to Continue Past the 2000km Mark

I played the vanilla OWH and I remember being able to get past the 2,000km mark. I forgot how I unlocked that as it was quite some time ago. I found out about the Plus DLC and bought it. I had my save get copied into plus.

Thus I thought that I would be able to play as normal. However, I've played on three different characters on an Afternoon Stroll Maniac Mode getting to 2,000km but I was never given the option to choose to go another 1,000km. I just kept getting the ending.

So I decided to do some different runs. I turned off Maniac Mode, though I am still in Afternoon Stroll difficulty. I did a run with the Knight that killed the Demon Lord then a run with a Hunter killing the Dark Dragon.

Now I am going to try getting past the 2,000km mark on Afternoon Stroll Maniac Mode with the other classes. While messing around in game may eventually get me past the 2,000km mark, I decided to post the question here as that may the smarter solution.

I already saw a different thread asking the same question, but getting no answer. Am I just supposed to accomplish something in game? Must I be on a higher difficulty? Is this a bug? I'm enjoying the DLC so far but this is stifling the fun quite a bit.

I think it's a bug. Pretty sure after hitting 2k once, you should then be able to pass it next time.

So, basically, my options are to wait for a patch or start anew to see if that fixes the bug. Well then...

I've had this happen on and off numerous times (I've even done a successful 10000km run in plus, only to have the next 5+ runs with different class/difficulty combos all refuse to let me past 2000km) and I'm not entirely sure why...either it's bugged or the unlock method is a bit strange (i.e. something like it has to be unlocked for every individual class/difficulty combination - which is far too many times, even more so because it seems to ignore any and all pre-plus EotW completions) to say the least. Once per difficulty total (4 total) would make sense, but once per class per difficulty for 44 total is ridiculous.
As such, I'm hoping it is just a bug that needs fixing - especially seen as technically I've already got 42 EotW/EotD (EotD overrides EotW) ones done between OWH and OWH+ according to the class specific data screen, but the vast majority of the time I'm still not allowed to continue past 2000km/3000km.

So yeah, either it's bugged, or the unlock method has to be done 44 times - once per combination - to actually fully unlock it...which is just silly, especially seen as it doesn't even seem to count completions from imported pre-plus OWH data.

And here I thought that beating the Demon Lord and Dark Dragon, then seeing if that allowed me to pass 2000km was a hassle. I'm still checking to see If killing DL and DD fixed it for me. Now if I can only resist killing endangered animals so as to not killed by the Jade people, and ya know... reach the 2000km mark.

After that I can test if you do need to unlock it for every class and difficulty combo. Man I hope the dev fixes this bug.

Just to double check, are you changing class? or are you trying with the same class multiple times?

I'm on Afternoon Stroll Maniac Mode. I'm currently using Pirate. I'm trying to see if killing the Dark Lord and Dark Dragon has made the bug go away. I was using Hunter earlier, but I kept dying so I changed class. I am apparently not on my A-game.

I'm going to try getting past the 2000km mark with Pirate. If that doesn't work, I'm going to try with Hero. If that still doesn't work, I'll try Hero one more time. I'm going to do all this on the same difficulty.

If none of the above work, I'll be eating noodles to assuage the sadness. Then just stop and wait for a bug fix I suppose.

EDIT: I just finished the pirate, sadly I still wasn't given the option to pass the 2000km mark. I have the medal icon for Afternoon Stroll Maniac Mode End of the World for Hero, Pirate, Knight, and Swordmaster. This is from pre OWH+.

So I'm gonna test Hunter again, so I at least get the medal for hunter for my efforts on the class select screen. If I still don't get past the 2000km mark, I guess it means it has to be unlocked once per class.

EDIT2: So, I'm done with the Hunter. It did not let me pass the 2,000km mark. I have also garnered that I completely suck as the Hunter.

I currently don't have the energy to try the Hunter or Pirate again to see if it'll let me pass the 2,000km mark.

This is all the info I had the willpower to gather.

Update, awesome! Ok, will do. Gimme a couple hours, I'll have the Pirate tested first.

Edit: I finished with Pirate. It finally let me pass the 2000km mark! I checked further and I got the promt at 3,000km as well. Hopefully this means the bug is dead and that this works for all the classesXdifficulty. I guess only future playthroughs can tell. Whatever the case, I'm pretty happy! Thanks Devs!

On a side note, I noticed a number of fanged fish stuck on land or moving in a small space in sand. I thought I should give note about it.

I guess I should have thought of screenshotting it at the time. Well give me a bit of time, I'll reach the coast area again and try to get a screenshot whe I see it again. Good thing I still have the seed.

EDIT: I went through the seed, albeit on a higher difficulty. I no longer saw fanged fish on sand. I'm pretty sure as I went through 2 coast areas. I'm not sure what happened, as I did see them at the time when I was checking for the game letting me pass the 2000km mark. That is that I guess. Thanks again devs! Quick responses too!

I've noticed that I could go past 2000km if I went on a special campaign, like the +Class Unlocking Quests, or the Travel Journal for Tourist.

Without it though, I was forced to take End of the World at 2000km. Haven't tried it recently though, so the recent change might have fixed it.

What campaign were you doing? Just fighting the Demon Lord?

Yeah, but the problem was already fixed with a recent update thanks to the devs. And yes, just fighting the demon lord.
