Aside from that we have 'Survival' which is essentially a multiplayer game with randomly generated stuff, that enables you to play it like singleplayer is played.
Hope that helps! :)
Even as a player that knew his stuff, I was having trouble with the last 5 missions due to stronger enemies, more intense wave attacks, etc.
What the campaign is good at is making you feel a sense of responsibility. You'll know the importance of a group, how to use abilities more efficicently, how to combat hordes as well as bosses, and how to deal with split-second decisions that could wipe you.
I would rate the second half of the campaign to be as difficult as the later sections of a game of MP depending on your team. It's beautifully created to teach the game rather than be a walk in the park.
Until you get a Hellspawn right outside the last objective......
The only thing better was Nyx droping nuke on your head after death in multiplayer. But it seems developers thought that it was too much too, because without a full shileds termie you are boned 95% of time with that.
The funny thing is that when you die, the game lets you load the last checkpoint, BUT the seismic charges you have spent stay gone, so you have no chance to take down the nests.
Edit: Gave it another try today and made it through and never lost the whole squad once.
I guess it took a new approach and practice.
Playing the singleplayer campaign cooperatively with my friends would really be something!
And im still not able to beat "super hardcore mode" :D
You'll find that the majority of the vets are very friendly and happy to help.
You'll find that the community is like 1 big family. Once you have played for a while, you'll begin to recognize everyone and know their playstyles.
Thanks mate, I'll keep that in mind if I pick up the game - which I reckon I will, looks like fun!
Cheers all for your responses. (:
I, too, am interested in this game. Thanks to the OP and the responses I'm encouraged about the singleplayer aspect. However I'm still unsure/misunderstanding the multiplayer and Survival mode component.
Is Survival a seperate mode that can be played Singleplayer or is it a Multiplayer mode that must be played with other people? While I'm interested in how a Tactical Squad based game performs in a Multiplayer setting, my primary interest is Singleplayer.
Survial mode is tactical mode in a multiplayer environment and you only play by yourself with 3 npcs following you. You would be playing Multiplayer objectives/storylines.
Mulitplayer mode is with other people and you can't use tactical mode with that.
Single player is the using the tactical squad mode and playing through a storyline.
