Any games around like The Red Solstice?

I found out that i really like the genre so i wondered if theres more games out there like this one? preferably with rpg elements ;)

DOW2 last stand - 3 player very small arena survive the waves, persistent character development across several different classess. Mouse and hotkey control.

But there are absolutely no missions.

Edit: Shadowground series used to play that 2 ppl set piece missions and much more twitchy on the controls but also good game... if a little dated.

I've seen other comparisons but since i haven't played them i'll let others make comment.

As snug said DOW2- retri etc. got arena based play with nicer graphics etc. but you just simply trying to survive in arena without any mission or such. Also co-op play limited with 4 people. For me that was a good game, i nearly mastered all of my fave commanders-classes. But it get boring after a while.
As far as i know, Starcraft 2 got a fun-made-mod like this. It's kinda tower-def+survival mod. Also warcraft got same but more detalied mod too, which you need to eat, survive from cold and craft your own weapon for fight etc.

Alien Swarm (kinda?). Theres two, one released by Valve and then the original Unreal Tournament 2004 Mod one. Mod was pretty hardcore, probably the hardest games i've ever played. Those are more fast paced action oriented than RS.

if you like the genre and want to play games like it you can try the games it was based on. Starcraft 2 has undead assualt 3 and NOTD2 (tho i cant recall off the top of my head if they had their numbers on the map anymore, they may have got changed since people would probably wonder where the early games are.) , while Warcraft3 has NOTD:AM, Undead assualt 2, DOTD (dawn of the dead, which tbh was a nice map for awhile but all it came down to was bunker somewhere, finish wave, hunt for supplies then repeat from step one, no real objectives.) and Swat:Aftermath.

i know TRS is based off of NOTD but when i play it i get the feeling of the Swat mod map combined with elements of NOTD and some unique elements thrown in.

its still in alpha im pretty sure but check out satellite reign. the remake of syndicate wars. same sort of group/view/controls, but a little more in depth in certain aspects.

one to look out for in the future anyway. and yes, im a backer and no i didnt put it here to get support its at 131% of its kickstarter goal. its syndicate wars. it doesnt need it.

apart from that there are a few games with similar group/control sort of things on steam most are crap. as teroan said alien swarm which i think is the free game released by steam is cool but short.

it was greenlit ages ago. should be on steam soon.
