Is that the whole map?
After Dead Rising 1 (waaay back in 2006?) I was thinking, "For Dead Rising 2 they should give you the whole town to run around in." But instead all we got was a casino resort with the same tons of loading screens for DR2. Then Dead Rising 3 was announced to be an open world with a whole town! YAY!
But ummm... is that it? Just four city blocks connected by freeways? No suburbs, neighborhoods, apartment complexes, rural areas with trees and lone shacks,..plus a big city with another mall? Basically for a pure NEXT GEN game I was expecting at least a map the size of GTA San Andreas.

Don't misunderstand me. Dead rising 3 gets a thumbs up from me. I love it. But for a next gen "open world" even a quarantined city it's way too small. Is there more than those four sections linked by freeways? Will there be a new map in DLC?

Dead Rising is known for it's awesome map design such as DR 1's fun mall and RR 2's Fortune City with crazy looking casinos and malls.
I was not really happy with Dead Rising 3's setting at all, they should go back to a fun setting and something nice to look at.
The map only feels small when you're driving vehicles. It doesn't feel small if you're running around

I agree. I don't mind the setting in DR3, it's just a lot less fun and colourful than that of predecessors. More openness doesn't necessarily make for a more interesting experience.
