Any fix for the fps drop and bad performance overall?
Okay I got this game like 5 days after it was released on pc and when I first booted it up I was experiencing major fps drop. Had to set my video settings to low to get it to run though it still was awful when around giant hoards of zombies wich would make the fps drop back to its ♥♥♥♥ levels. Recently I added some launch options to help it like: -cpuCount=4 -exThreads=7 -high -maxMem=6144 -noPause -enableHT -noLogs

That helped it alot and was able to run it at medium video settings. My frames where decent but they where still not as good as they should be. I think I had around 30-40 frames. I was playing through the game and got up to where you get the call about the girl in the graveyard doing some ritual when suddenly my game got extrememly choppy and unplayable. I would like it to get up to at least 60+, and also stop the game from getting choppy and unplayable. It should run as good as on a console, well at medium settings it should at least.

My specs are:

-i7 2600 GPU @ 3.40GHz
-8 GB RAM
-931.51 GB SSD (Not my C:/ drive but I store all my game stuff there. C:/ Drive is 111.79 GB )
-AMD Radeon HD 6700 series

Your setup doesn't suck; its just your video card thats the issue

Does setting launch options really increase performance? Can anyone confirm?

I didn't knew this game would allow launch options, i'd like to know too if it increases performance.. would be nice

it should, those launch options I added to dead rising 3 launch options and it helped the performance alot. Just adjust the number to suit your specs

I tried them and i didn't see any difference.. with my 4930k @4.5Ghz and 780Ti @ 1250Mhz my average framerate is about 40-50fps in 1440p maxed out.. pretty dissapointing. Unplayable for me.. i hope this gets fixed next week..

It should get patched soon. I just dont think capcom put much effort into tranfering the game over to pc. A messy rip fomr the console and splatterd over the pc. They need to patch up the performance issues so people would be able to play it without any serious or noticalbe frame drops. On medium settings at least

Well it is a messy Console copy&paste job in my eyes. Mouse Acceleration, bad slow Texture Streaming, Popping in Objects, Blurry Textures 20-30 feet away, Draw Distance not being on a "PC" level.. and ofcourse the 30Fps cap because stupid reasons.. it does need serious patching before it's acceptable and playable.. i just hope it'll happen soon.

I wouldn't mess with game files yet. They already announced an upcoming patch. Better wait and see what they can do.

Yeah definetly. For now just do this to help performace: Right click Dead Rising 3 in your library and select properties, click set launch options and paste this into it without quotes "-cpuCount=4 -exThreads=7 -high -maxMem=6144 -noPause -enableHT -noLogs". save those as your Dead rising 3 launch options. Then to get rid of the fps cap go to your Dead rising 3 instal directory and make a new text document then paste "gmpcr_unlock_frame_rate = True" into it without quotes, then set it as all files and save it as User.ini and save it. Then just launch your game, set graphics to medium, turn off sync and motion blur, clouds to low, and change 1080p to 720p. Should run alright then. Also try running it in a window

I know all the tweaks already and unlocking framerate too.. but i'm really against it to play with lowered settings and resolution.. i mean come on my specs are beastly D: i'll rather wait until they fix it because the slow texture streaming and horrible framerate pacing are quite distracting and annoying :/

Try this for the bad FPS drops. Please respond on that post if it works for you. http://steamcommunity.com/app/265550/discussions/0/613935404236023464/?tscn=1410238329

have you tried the FPS unlock posted by capcom?...I made a guid help to Nvidia user (specifically SLI users) so i cant really help you :( but based from the specs you posted I honestly cant see why the game would perform bad...prolly has something to do with the game being really unoptimized

I don't understand; the game isn't meant to go over 30 fps. There is nothing to fix for your specific issue.
