Anyone with an AMD GPU? Performance Discussion

Seems like the forums have no AMD users in it so I am calling you guys out,
just wanted to get an idea of everyone with AMD GPU's performance,
I have some performance issues on my 6970 using 14.7 beta (GPU usage drops in more crowded areas, especially sunset hills, so frames drop horribly & cutscene lag).
So anyone else with AMD cards having similar issues or is all going good for you guys, for all I know my card is dying from my overclock experiments last year.
Besides that though not many game breaking issues besides rare crashes every once in a while, again might be my pc.

Edit: I have tried out a modified version of the driver originally made for the R9 285 and it is running much better than previously, no cutscense lag, no more reverse GPU usage, get over 60FPS at some times now too, all settings on max @ 1080p besides shadows as I havent bothered changing them back to high since I changed driver, try it out if you are having similar performance issues http://www.guru3d.com/files-details/amd-catalyst-14-x-beta-%2814-300-1005-august-27%29-download.html

Strange, I run a XFX 7950 Black Edition (OC) 3GB and CPU is I5 3550, 8 GB Ram and I have no problems at all, all settings to Max, only some slowdowns in cutscenes and heavy use of the Ultimate Reaper Weapon with blowing ♥♥♥♥ up around you, everything else is fine.

I don´t get it why it causes so many problems for so many people and some just run it with no problems but sometimes have almost the same specs as people with problems.
I save my savegames everytme just to be sure to not lose progress, because I read that happened to some.

7990 with crossfire disabled, all high, can get 30fps during small crowds, 60+ looking at ground or wall or inside. hit around 20 driving through hordes.
crossfire enabled decreases perfromance even further. i haven't checked GPU usage, I'll have a look now but I suspect it's having the same problem as you guys (heavily underusing the GPU)

it seems like even though it's performing badly, i'm still lucky it's even running this good compared to what i've been reading

I tested 30fps and noticed a few things. Shadows no longer flickered. Textures held in place. But 30 frames looks like ♥♥♥♥. Steam needs to stop censoring words that describe poop.

post your cpu, gpu, amount of memory and min/max/avg fps that your getting

I Play with a R7 250 2GB OC version on Low settings, Driver version 14.4 and no crashes
(CPU AMD FX 4130 Quad 3.80GHZ, RAM 8GB DDR 3)

AMD 290 @ max quality with resolution quality at full, average fps around 90. Cutscenes are locked at around 30 fps I think since it drops to that number.

Been playing for hours now, no issue.

I got the exact same gpu and my performances are horrible, cutscene lag, fps constantly dropping under 15, etc... This game is really weird to figure out.

Asus Radion HD6870 (14.4 drivers, no overclock)

I had very poor performance as well, but unlocking framerate and low settings/resolution it is playable. I dont have any problems with choppy cutscenes any more. And only when it is really crowded I drop below 30fps. It only crashed when I try to exit the game.

@Gemma Burns had the same problem as you, tried to verify game but didn't work so I had to reinstall it
