Question about scavenging for side mission items without a waypoint.
In Dead Rising 1 & 2 you could hover the cursor over the various stores and locations to get an idea of what they could have instock. In Dead Rising 3 there is a legend, but not names or descriptions of buildings on the map.

An Early mission has you trying to save an Indian guy named Ravi from inside the freezer of a restaurant. He needs a cleaver and a chainsaw. On your way out linearly you walk through a kitchen with meat, a chef knife and a cleaver. Now in Dead Rising 1 & 2 you could check the map and read through the store names. I'd expect a hardware store to be stocked with chainsaws, but the map has no store locations.

Aside from stumbling upon a chainsaw latter, what would be the best solution without cheating? It's like I need a legit map open on another screen to get aid in finding stuff. One which I haven't found yet.

BTW

After I ALT+TAB out of Dead Rising 3 my FPS tanks and becomes unstable. I run MSI Afterburner with Rivatuner normally. I may turn it off to see if that changes things, but I doubt it will help.

I really like to ALT+TAB to multitask. In Dead Island ALT+TAB would break V-Sync and it was never fixed. That I could handle with frame limiter software, not the game locking up after ALT+TAB.

any weapon or items you pick up will be stored in the weapon locker which can be accessed in the safe house. unless you haven't pick any chainsaw earlier, you can just go back to safe house and get the chainsaw from the locker.

Okay, this means you need to pick up everything at least just once. Does the contents on your weapons locker carry over from playthrough to playthrough? Like if I restarted the game would all my stuff be in there? Not to mention I'd expect the blueprints I've gotten to stay.

yes, all your weapons, vehicles, progress will be carried over, including collectibles.

the weapon locker does have limits. there's a meter that will decrease everytime you spawn a weapon from the locker depending on the type. normal weapons will use 1/8 of the bar while super combo weapons will use half of the bar. need to wait for the meter to charge before you can spawn new weapons
