For those having Coop Issues.
There apparently seems to be a glitch with the Coop invites on steam, ( One player may get a black screen when they try to spawn in, or joining a friends game may cause their game to crash.) This is an issue with steam almost certainly as I have reports of others as well myself being able to join random people through matchmaking with zero issues. I believe we will just to have to wait for an update. Until then just have your coop partner host a game and hope you join them through match making, otherwise it looks like you'll have to wait.

P.S: trying other fixes atm such as redownloading, validating, etc..

Have the same problem and joining my friend through random matchmaking didn't help as well. So the fault is not just joining through steam. But probably some compatibility issues between host and player.

I can join my friend but we can't play more than 5min before he freezes, when he tries to join me he get a black screen

Ah ok I see, well thanks for the info, hopefully capcom comes out with a fix soon.

OMFG..was able to fix the coop joining crash, when my friend removed symbols like [ _ ] from his name!! Hope this fixes also your problem, because before this i tried every other solution without any luck. Peace out!

even random matchmaking doesn't work for me. I always end with the blackscreen when i join other people or my game freeze when a player is trying to join my game. singleplayer is running perfect for me without any single crash.

Actually this method is working like a charm! my friend has "$" in his same .. after removing it .. I'm able to join his game .. well that's not a suprising thing since the game is totally ported to pc without decent modification so in xbox you can't use any symbol in your gamertag :) ty again for sharing
