Please fix shadows in this game
Dear Capcom,

please fix the shadows in this game.
They're often flickering and disappering while playing, like in this video ( thats not my video, I'm just linking it here because it shows the same issue )
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jDtZcRm-z-0

Please please please fix this issue, the game would be so much better

I have not seen that yet.

I sure as hell wish they would fix the occasional car textures popping in and out though. sometimes I have to walk right up to a car before it loads. and when there are crowds of zombies the animations look janky. this game looks more like a last gen game in so many ways.

Something is wrong with your graphics card. Make sure the drivers are up to date. Or, if you're at the latest, try an earlier driver that worked correctly.
If you're overclocking, reduce to defaults.

There's nothing wrong with my PC at all...
I run everygame without any problems, except this one.
Drivers are also up to date, every driver.

Yes there is. Hence the shadow rendering issue you're having.

That's marvelous, but as I am constantly saying, how other games run has no bearing on anything else

Drivers are also up to date, every driver.

Then consider trying an older one.
You can also try changing settings and deleting the "rendersettings.ini" file to reset the game back to defaults.

Well, its a rendering issue I have.
That doesn't mean its because of my PC ......
Sorry but Dead Rising 3 is a ♥♥♥♥♥♥ optimized game, you can know that instantly after seeing the 30 fps limit. Even if you unlock FPS, you won't get stable 60 FPS, no matter what PC you got. Thats a fact.

Just search for "shadow flickering" in steam discussion of this game... You'll find so many threads with the same problem. Let me guess, everyone have problems with their pc, right ?

except for parts of some cutscenes I have perfectly stable 60 fps with vsync. without vsync I have not seen it drop below 72 fps during gameplay in the 2 hours I have played/tested. and that is with every setting on the highest using a 980.

Well I don't believe that, because GTX 780 Ti is about the same performance like GTX 980....
Also TotalBiscuit made a PC report about the performance etc. ...

He's using a GTX Titan

that was when the game was first released. game patches and newer drivers fixed the performance issues at least on high end cards.

Ah, no. I can tell you from experience that the GTX 980 ran circles around the 780TI (in this game and in general).

Which one? There are several different models.

The GTX 980 well outperforms the original Titans while the newest Titan X trounces all of them.

also, that video was released the day before the game was. Driver improvements have mostly alleviated most performance complaints since then (except on underpowered hardwarE)

Yes actually, it does.

/eyeroll.

Even if you unlock FPS, you won't get stable 60 FPS, no matter what PC you got. Thats a fact.

Ahahah. No it's not.

Just search for "shadow flickering" in steam discussion of this game... You'll find so many threads with the same problem.

Dude, you don't need to tell me about it. I've been active on this forum since release day.

Let me guess, everyone have problems with their pc, right ?

Pretty much, yeah.

@Mods

The shadows is one thing I had to take down one notch for this game to run with everything else on max at 1080p at a decent framerate I meet all the recommended settings except I have a 15 2500k.
GAmbrose Mar 28, 2015 @ 2:45am
Are you running SLI? That messes up the shadows.
