voice taunting
on the x1 this game had a feature where you could use the kinect to draw zombies to you on purpose or by accident by making actual noise into the microphone. the game also featured a couple of puzzles that pretty much required this feature. will the pc version retain this feature and if not what about the audio-specific quests?

i did see the faq that said that the smartglass app stuff wont be in the game. i can assume that this stuff then wont be either.

The underlying technology used in DR3 for voice/speech recognition are Kinect API features. For example on Xbox One, psycho boss characters react to specific phrases such as "You're crazy!" Zombie hordes also react to phrases like "Over here!" which will draw agro towards you. Unfortunately, this feature (and the underlying Kinect API) did not carry over to the PC.

to quote Wbacon

and no Smartglassfeatures either. So no Smartglasssidemissions, no screaming at zombies or psychos in the PCversion.

You can easily set this up in GlovePIE if the game has a key binded for shouting, etc. :D

So wait
you're telling me

that theres a program that will let you use your mic as a controller?

So far GlovePie sounds awesome but sadly the only drawback is that it doesnt sound like it's meant for multiple voice recognition (Shout can only be used for one thing)

if it does please tell me
this would be awesome

By multiple voice recognition, do you mean being able to trigger multiple keys at one time? Because if so, this is possible. GlovePIE's scripting language is similar to C# kind of.

if (Microphone.Said("Hey You!")) Keyboard.A = true; Keyboard.W = true; endIf

This will trigger A and W when the player says "Hey You!". There is also a HeardNoise variable too.

if (Microphone.HeardNoise) Keyboard.A = true; Keyboard.W = true; endIf

Does that answer your question? :D

XD

I mean something more like

Would it be able to read your voice to the point where if you call out to survivors by saying something like HEY and call out to zombies with something like WASSUP

I can't really explain what i mean.... though some of the shout features will probably still be in the game depending on how well they port it over

Oh, I think I understand what you mean now lol.

[Shout Key Bind] = Microphone.Said("Surprise Motherclucka!")); [Survivor Key Bind] = Microphone.Said("Getcho booties over here!");

I believe this will do what you described. If you scream "Surprise Motherclucka!", then it will trigger the shout key. If you yell "Getcho booties over here!", it will trigger the key that calls survivor over to you (I thought there was such a feature in this game) lol. And if the games handles this with key combinations, you can simply just add key binds.

[Shout Key Bind] + [Survivor Key Bind] = Microphone.Said("Getcho booties over here!");

How about now. Is that what you were looking for? LOL XD

They said that was an exclusive feature in DR3 for Xbone
the only thing next to emulate is the smartglass app

like i said

depending on the port they might leave some files behind and i do believe that it might be possible to emulate that exclusive feature

If the game has the bindings, then when it releases, I'll probably make a GlovePIE script like this. :D
