Does corruption do anything?

I've played with it both min and maxed at 100 and I'm not seeing anything besides a cute brand on her.

Does it actually have an effect on game play?

As far as I can tell the only thing this changes is the text you get after defeating the last boss.

If you have enough will-point while capturing, there would be a little chance to fight back and escape from trapping. I just noticed that the high level of corruption will make her lose control and show no ability to fight back so I guess the corruption might somehow affect the chance to escape (like degree of luck or something)
