What are the odds of finding rares?

I legit got a rare not even 2 hours in so I'm just curious how hype I should be.

Out of 200 battle i saw 2 though I was going through the story and changing areas often

Fairly high, at least if you compare it to other monster catching games. Even more so if you use the Elusive Scent. Each lasts only 100 steps, but you will encounter rares what feels like at least 25% of the time.

Yeah, I now have 3 hours in the game and I've seen about 5 now. I didn't keep track of encounters so clearly they aren't crazy rare. Which is nice. I wouldn't want a porn game with Pokemon odds of 1/8192

Its pretty high in 10 hrs i've caught every rare and completed campaign. With the elusive potion it feels more like 50% otherwise probably 10%

Just started the ga e and I found a “rare” slime, couldn’t catch it because I was out of crystals I’m in the beginning of the game so I can’t even buy them 🥴

It's actually really high, especially if you keep running from spirits you don't need nor need the gold/XP for other spirits with you.
