Demo version
Hi ! So, as I said in the title, do you think there will be a demo version ? Cause I really really want to try it but I dont have enough money to get it, sadly.. So, I was wondering this :3. Thanks :) ! (sorry about my english, it is not my native language !)

The problem with a demo is that will be wasted dev time and the fact that they would HAVE to have some sort of limit but, WHERE do you draw the line for said limit in an open world survival game. Most games like this DON'T have demos anyway, and personally I'd rather they don't waste dev time making one.

Well, for example, in Minecraft or Terraria, there was no save, so we start in a world, playing as long we want, but we can't save, and I thought it was a good idea.
But yeah, if it will take more times to do a demo version i can understand why it will not have one. I really want to try out this game, though :/

ok? hows dose a super alpha game come out with a demo? thats like saying free samples of cookies and giving a person just egg yokes? thats nasty and no one wants it. there might be a demo later in development when the game is more wholesome.

They could do what KSP did and have a demo that is several updates behind. But this is an alpha, the game is a demo at this point.

Haha....well currently the game has no save ability. As a temporary workaround you can use the command console to spawn stuff that you had before.

You can get a good feel of the game by watching the youtube videos about it. That's what I did, and to be honest my budget could not even afford this game on Steam after all the christmas shopping was done. Fortunately someone understood that and bought it as a gift. Perhaps you can coerce a dear one to the same solution. ;)

Well, I'm not expecting a demo soon, but I was wondering and just posting my wonder on the forum, cause that's the use of a forum.
And yeah, KSP is a good example for a demo version.

Well, I already watch few videos on Youtube, but well, for me there is a different between watch and play :3 !
Aha, yup, it's a good idea, you got lucky :3 !

No, we won't be putting out a demo, at least not during the Early Access phase.

But, demo's are much less important these days, given all the youtubers and streamers who are playing the game. This guy, EatMyDiction for example, has been doing quite a few videos which really give you a pretty good look at how the game plays in its current form https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6yNYu4F6me8t Though, even in the short time since this first video was made we've fixed and added a lot of stuff in the updates we've put out.

Ok I understand that :), thanks for the reply !

Aha, I already watch his video ! And yes, I know it's an early access, the game is in constant evolution !

I hope I will get a it soon :3.. At least, Merry Christmas to all of you and I hope you will enjoy to make this game as I enjoyed to watch it !!

I like this game and really want to purchase it, but i use Parallels on my iMac (2.7GHz Inter Core i5, 20GB RAM), so i'm not sure if i can run it, so that will be really helpful if there is a demo.

can you do something else because i want to get this game but dont know if it will run

Well, I was in the same problem, and I tried the "Subnautica Terrain test" ( http://store.steampowered.com/app/273550/ ) and it was working perfectly, so I bought the game and the game is working perfectly.

It's not about seeing if the game is good or not good, it's about whether it will make me sick or not. I can't play about half the VR games I own because they make me nauseated. This looks cool but I'm pretty sure it will make me sick :(

Steam's new Return Policy means you can try ANY game and as long as you play for less than 2 hours (or have it for less than 2 weeks without playing it) you can Return it for a full refund.
