Actually they are at the end of making this game :) After years of development the game is about to be released in May this year. I don't think they will add any new zones after the game is complete. There isn't much left not to be added.
Anyway, I managed to find this odd, sheer cliff underwater as you go past the sea treaders coming from the great reef. It just weent down seemingly forever, but my ADHD got bored after a few thousand meters so I went and had s'mores.
That's the edge of the map which just goes down forever :)
Sure you could always add stuff forever, but at some point you gotta call the game finished because you need to work on new projects unless it's an MMO or the game generates money in another way, ingame shop etc.
I was just pointing out that the game is nearing the end of it's planned development cycle. Because the other user made it sound like they just started with early access. Whether or not they will add content after the game's release in May is not yet clear.
what? the world does just fall off into an infinite abyss at the end, just go west, east, north or south far enough, past the dunes
ok, give me a minute

Give you a good idea about how a deep trench might work.
If we are talking about the deepest part of the actual map then the active lava zone area with a depth of about 1700 meters is probably the deepest you can go.

I got bored, but I found what is beneath everything
