Creature in Subnautica with real life comparrisons you may not know.
There are many absured creatures in Subnautica with amazing alien like features that are extremly far fetched but some may be more realistic than you think.

First there are that have obvious comparrisons like the jelly rays are clearly jelly fish and stingrays put together ,or bleeders are some type of sea lamprey. But where not here to cover those where here to handle the biggest weirdest creatres of subnautica:

1)The mesmer I think this is one of the most intresting creatures on this list ,and what kind of creatures changes colors so fast in long tentical like protrusions then lashes its toung at you in deadly strikes. Answer ,the cuttlefish despite the name the cuttlefish looks more like a squid than a fish. This cephelopod make chamelions look like chumps not only can they change color instantly to any surrounding and eveven create 3d branches from their skin to look like coral they have the ability to change colours so fast that they can put their prey in a trance (mesmerize if you will) then eat them with a long tounge like tentacle just like a mesmer.

see https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dF-jHp-5XfU for an example.

2)The sand shark this creature of subnautica burrows underground and lashes out at you as you grow near ,this greatly ressembles not one but two creatures of the ocean the star gazer and the tassled wobogong these ambush predators hide in the sand and jump out at prey that come near. Although neither of which are a prefect match for the sand shark due to the fact that the tassled wobogong rarely burrows and uses mostly camoflouge and the star gazer although perfectly matching the sand sharks behavior they don't have the right shape or size but if you wish to see them hunt see the following. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8DqglF2ACQ0

3)Next is a creature not implemented yet but hopefully you've heard of it .The rock puncher, this creature in subnautica will use it's clup like hands to bash foes ,so what creature of the sea ressembles that ,something called the peacock mantis shrimp this colour full shrimp has many diffrent features such as some of the most advanced eyes in the animal kingdom but there most intresting feature is their powerful club like arms that can break glass and deliver up to 1,500 newtons of force (not bad for a 6 inch long animal.) They use their powerful claws to bash the exosceleton of crustaceans and then eat them.Examples are the following http://video.nationalgeographic.com/video/worlds-deadliest/deadliest-mantis-shrimp

Now thank you for reading but this brings up a topic about subnautica I don't like the fact that very few of these creatures use these adaptations in the game for example is the hunting of mesmers is non existant there only there to be a pain and keep you out o a cave here and there I want to see mesmers go to peepers and put them in a trance making them defensles, I want to see decent size prey for sand sharks to jump out at.

To finish thing things off I want to talk about the reaper leviathan first of all in nature when an animal with something to garb its prey to it's mouth it's normaly a parasite like the bleeder notice it's claws, it doesn't happen with larger predators because when your big and you have something in your mouth it's not getting away, it's in your mouth! So claws around the mouth would be used to attack prey bigger than you for example, I don't want to see a reaper leviathan sitting around the aroura in the shallows that doesn't make sense I want to see packs of reaper leviathans out in the deep hunting reef backs grabbing on to it and mauling it to death then after there is a feeding frenzy of all kinds of fish chewing at the reefback similar to when a pack of orcas kill a humback whale pup.

Please, please go back and proofread you writing. These huge run-on paragraphs look terrible and are a pain to read without punctuation. Put periods, commas, capital letters, etc. where they belong. It not only makes what you wrote look good, but it does the same for yourself as well.

As for the topic at hand, it's a good idea and I like what you put up, but it needs proofreading badly.

What a lovely load of info, ignore the person above. I understood everything and read it fine with no problems. I do like the overall idea of implementing more behaviours for the fish, it will make the game seem even more alive and will be amazing to watch the creatures interact with their enviroment.

I'll admit, I was real interested in the game at first but the sheer amount of ''made up'' sea life is kind of off putting. I just want an underwater game of this caliber but with real... everything. :/
