What movies motivated you to get subnautica?
For me it was Deep Blue Sea,DeepStar Six,Leviathan,Sphere. Loved those movies, and those made me want to get the game and well I enjoy this game more than anything lol

None really, though I do remember watching Deep Star Six a few zillion times on my dubbed VHS tape as a kid. I watched it again a few years ago for the first time in over 20 years. Wow was it horrible. LOL. I'm not too much into underwater movies, though the Abyss is still really good after all these years.

None. I was into the "World of Diving" game, and still am (just waiting to the big Unity 5 update and last level to be finished. Taking a bit too long) and a friend made a thread about "Subnautica". That got my interest. But, I also love "The Abyss".

Moveis didn't get me interested into the game, it was a game called "Subwar 2050" which did. Ever since I played that game I always wanted a game like Subnautica.

I was playing another indie game, Betrayer, and happened upon a playthrough by TomsgamerGirl, when I went for episode two, there was none, but this title "Subnautica" looked interesting so after watching 2.8 seconds of that, I headed to the steam store and here we are.

There a couple movies I've seen like the Abyss, Jaws, Deep Blue Sea, and 20,000 League Under the Sea. Probably going to see some of the other movies mentioned in this thread like Sphere, Leviathan, and Deepstar Six. I however seen a lot of ocean documentaries on Animal Planet and Discovery channel when I was a kid. BBC's Blue Planet and the under water sections in Planet Earth are among one of my favorite.

I also love H.P Lovecraft's work. Stories like Shadow of Innsmouth and Call of Cthulhu are my favorite.

No movies. Personally I've always been in love with the sea.

As the bumper sticker goes: I'd rather be sailing.

Life Aquatic for sure!

No movies only my childhood memorys of being a kid who thought subs and underwater bases were cool, im surprised more of these types of games don't exist, there is something innately cool about being in that scenario.

For me it wasn't a movie but the novel "Der Schwarm" (The Swarm). Great book and absolutely worth a read if you haven't already. =)
