The thing to do here is to establish an 'honor system' where you play regular Survival, but if you die you cannot continue that save. You also may not save scum your way past a bad situation. :)
That would pretty much be hardcore with 02 alerts.
I play with several house rules, so that's just one more.
My resolution is 2560x1440. It actually takes me 2 seconds to find the HUD in the corner of the screen and register what it's saying, which is really going to stall the game if I have to watch it a lot. While looking for materials and stuff in-game I can't even see it. Ironmode is my favourite mode, but trying hardcore in this and I feel like the game's pulling a douche move on me. I'd like one of the following to be implemented:
1. HUD is closer to the centre of the screen, but more translucent.
2. Have the 10 second warning back, but leave out the 30 second warning.
3. Have 10 seconds between 0 oxygen and drowning (that period where the screen goes black), instead of 3.
4. A glug or groan sound 10 seconds before drowning.
5. Allow a warning system to be crafted in-game, even if you have to set the time manually by right-clicking an item.
Otherwise, it's simply unplayable for me.
A whole slew of checkboxes for various alerts and Tutorial messages, plus an Ironman mode, seems reasonable - but not for many months. That stuff always comes last in the development process.
Exactly, well said.
But this just makes no sense.
