Subnautica

Spent hours moving my base location... "finish deconstructing attached components first" bug ruins everything.
There is literally nothing attached to my observatory, partially built or otherwise and it's right in the way of me continuing my base. I was planning to finally complete subnautica but this has me ready to just put it down again.

Check where the observatory is connected to the base, usually there is something build near, even the most little things can affect it.

The observatory is not attached to the base. It is floating in open water with nothing in or around it.

Have you gone around it with the habitat builder and repair tool? There might be something partially built or not fully repaired stopping progress.

Yes. It's a fairly small room and I've gone over every inch of it.

Had a similar problem with a scanner room. It took me a while to discover a spotlight on the outside, not very visible without a power source.

Unfortunately not the case here. I'm trying to deconstruct the observatory which is pretty much entirely glass. There are only a couple places for stuff to hide and I've gone over it with a fine toothed comb.

I can't remember that happening in stable. Punch it with the prawn until it breaks.

Lol I'm pretty sure that's not an option. I wish it were. I don't even think there is a console command to bypass this.

Did you put anything inside it? Installed any modules?

Could you post a screenshot?

I remember something similar to this happening to me quite a few times, but there was usually some way to fix it by fidgeting around enough. Sometimes there was still something attached to the room (including a hatch), sometimes the room was *partially* deconstructed, which would screw up the game, and sometimes the issue fixed itself if I built an adjacent room and just deleted the original room first, then the new room second.

But yeah, if you can post a screenshot, maybe we can help.

No hatch. Except when I add one so I can get inside it and try to figure out what is going on. I have already tried building other rooms attached but it still wouldn't allow me to deconstruct the original room. Screenshots incoming momentarily...

Thank you guys.
Clicking that link just takes me to my profile :steamhappy:. Presumably because steam doesn't want people accessing the profiles of other people. No prizes given for guessing why.

If you want to show a screen shot (google it). Starting on this very page head to the top and click on your name. Next on the right look for "Screenshots", click that. Find the one you want, click again (might see a pattern about now). On the picture there is a little cog on the top right, click and select "Share".
Highlight and copy the link. Post.

Example of how it will end up.
