Not a complaint, but rather than request a re-statement of hundreds of existing answers, why not try a forum search on "base locations"?
BTW. The only real answer is: "Anyplace that you find inspiring, fascinating, helpful, or challenging."
Up trees, down caves, near dangerous creatures, in placid calm waters, on an island, hanging in the air, only in your submarine, etc.
I suppose, if a person isn't into base building so much really, focusing on one base only approach, then I'd probably build on the South East side of the mountain near the mushroom forest. Mainly just for quicker access to the lost river. And, there's fairly quick access to each type biome from that point as well. So, resource variety is good. The other consideration would be by the trench in the SW quadrant more toward middle of map so you're near creepvine field and red grass biome but, close to another access to 'lost river.' This location for same reasons as first selection. Ofc, I actually build multiple bases....one near each entrance to lost river and place beacons over the bases for quick reference points.

Seems you've been doing this since 2016. Either you don't have a life, or you're just sad. It's not wrong to ask this question, even if it's asked "hundreds of times" as you've said a few times. Instead of acting like a moderator, just ignore these posts and move on instead of spamming everyone one of them with this type of comment. 7 years and you still keep doing it lol.
Edit: Changed the year because it seems you've been at it since 2016, not 2017. So, 1 extra year lol.
The other playthrough the bases I built were a bit big and it affected the game's performance. Also reefbacks would get stuck in the base so I'd constantly have their songs on loop which was annoying.
I posted here for if you guys had any suggestions because usually forum comes up with interesting stuff.
Getting anal and squashing new players out with silly overreactions doesn't seem helpful...
Seems better to encourage questions, regardless of skill level or pathways to the knowledge, to support being a part of the community.
Sure anyone can Google the answer. They're here to connect through discourse. That's what forums are for. Discussion. Not to just supply information. That's a wiki.
l
Exactly, DISCUSSIONS. This forum is here to discuss things, not just as a search tool. All of us have access to Google, so, we could all just easily type in to Google "Best place to build a base Subnautica" and we'd get the answer.
Again, you've been doing this since 2016, how sad of a life must you have? Not to mention 2.0 changed some things so information from 2016 could be wrong. It could also be wrong if someone found a better place to build for resources, or a nicer place to build than previously mentioned.
Just skip past these posts if they trigger you so much. It's been 7 years and you shared 24 links to 24 different times people asked, that's around 3 a year.

Yet it's just an outpost, as it drains power from the main lava lake base.
Try posting on any of these and you'll promptly be admonished for "necroing" (bad doggy!) Unless you're supposed to just read, not write anything yourself on the subject - since now all the old sea-hands are through with it.
Of course, you could always content yourself with a little backseat moderating. Some find it very rewarding and will go to great lengths to indulge themselves in that pleasure:
I'm interested in this thread, and fresh perspectives are good. For me, since I apparently die a lot, there does seem to be an advantage not straying too far from the original respawn location. The shallows seem to have a nice array of fish for water and food, and my grav fish trap is always full of the pinkies.
Not a complaint, but rather than suggest necro-threads (which if OP had posted in, you'd probably point that out too) you could also just resist the urge to post to threads you feel have been done before.
Safe, a lot of entrances for Jellyshroom Cave (large deposits of rare raw materials), very close to the Blood Kelp Trench if you need to farm blood oil, very close to Sparse Reef (large deposits of raw material including quartz and gel sacks) and very close to a Kelp Forest if you need to farm creepvines.
