E: The world is so small that only one base is really needed - The Cyclops is practically a mobile base, anyway.
Plus Ive never had an enemy damage my moth while its docked in a moonpool. So if I plan to fight something like a reaper deep down, I can do so without worry of losing my moth.
When I can manage it on Newbie Town, I prefer it to be a wing from my 5/6 tall primary tower. 2nd floor from the top I put a corridor on either side, one leading to a lengthwise moonpool, the other leading to... Well, it would be a Scanner room if they were not buggy as **** and also completly ****ing useless anyways.
I like 2-3 MP towers linked with corridors as a design preference, to be fair. a majority of my secondary tower space is alien containment anyways. I like splitting species, but I like them to still be 2 tall.
As much for asthetic reasons, as all sorts of wacky bugs I've dealt with when loasing my saves.... with spare lived ones in wall lockers to restock just in case.
"There. I've split my fish into different tanks. That should keep them all from turning into one species when I load my game while players blame me for it!" *Loading save kills half his reginalds and 17 out of 19 airsacks once the bodycount is finished* "...Why..."
