in game shots? or steam shots?

steam screenshots have a "show on disk" option in the screenshot window.

if you are talking about ingame screenshots, the easiest thing is to add them to steam with the in game "add to steam" feature, and then use steam to show them in your finder. this will duplicate the image however, copying it into your steam screenshots folder.

but if you are looking for the screenshots folder within your subnautica save game file itself, its a little harder.
start with whatever drive you have subnautica saved on and navigate to your SteamLibrary folder.

then its: SteamApps/common/Subnautica/SNAppData/SavedGames/[slot000#]/screenshots/

make sure the [slot000#] matches the saved game slot you want images from.

they are saved as .jpg

The "add to Steam" feature appears to be missing. It used to be that you could view a photo (like when choosing a shot to put in a picture frame) and to the left of the delete button there was an option to add to Steam and you could go through them in an upload manager later and add captions and such. But that option has disappeared?

The screenshots are kept in your games save folder. steamfolder/Subnautica/SNAppdata/savedgames/slotxxxxx/screenshots

If the add to steam isn't working you can still do it manually by finding where steam stores the screenshots for subnautica and manually adding them (you'll also need to drag the pictures into the thumbnail subfolder).

The relevant steam folder can be hard to find too - it will have the same name as the steam game id for subnautica, which is 264710

odd that your add to steam button is missing. this is still supposed to be a feature, (i used it a bunch just the other day) so if yours is missing, it must be some sort of bug.

I noticed the add the steam button disappears if your internet connection goes.

I'll try it again on different wifi, otherwise I may just have to report it and hope for the best that a future update will bring it back :(

For the Mac version the location is under the steam game folder at:

/steamapps/common/Subnautica/Subnautica.app/Contents/SNAppData/SavedGames/slot(xxxx)/screenshots

Note: Subnatica.app is the application package (this may be a bug and has been reported)

Omg what is that trash grammar?

I didn't even understand a single word. And all those symbols hurt my eyes.

Just a scammer or a troller? Or an idiot? Maybe he was hacked... maybe his fingers slipped...? Idk, because his profile has fine grammar

What if I have subnautica through epic games not Steam? where would I find them?
FitnessToCosplay Jan 19, 2019 @ 3:08pm
For those of you that are using the epic games launcher, I've found out where to find this off of reddit.

For the future redditer, I just found my PDA screenshots under C:\ProgramData\Unknown Worlds\Subnautica\TempSave\tmp266845\screenshots while the game was running
Thyrical Jan 19, 2019 @ 5:27pm
I don't know about the file directory but you can look at them in Subnautica by opening your PDA and clicking the photo manager tab. By clicking on a pic you can look at it as well as hit share to save it as a steam screenshot.
