Efficient way to grow acid mushrooms?

Hi,
is there a efficent way to grow yourself some acid mushrooms for your battery use?
I try to, but when I try to get the seeds by harvesting them with a knife, all my mushrooms disappear at once and I don't get any seeds...

Any idea?

i dunno, the charging station is on the way... mushrooms should be infinite?
(you will have an natural amount of mushroom for 300 Hours ingame now.)

There will be a Point where you cant build Batteries anymore after 300 to 500 Hours (after the Recharge Station Update to be precise.) I think we will never be able to grow them.

@OP: It's far from efficient, but I usually pick them, swim away from anything fragile, and then one at a time I drop them and slash them with the knife.

Yeah, you get four seeds and a small amount of damage, each time.

this is glorious, thanks, then forget everything i said above. i didnt even know they got seeds. i thought it is part of the balance.

see i must have a bug or something. everyone keeps saying that slashing a mushroom to get the spores destroys everything in the "acid cloud" that also comes out, as well as damaging you, but i've never had my mushrooms damaged even if they're right next to the "seed mushroom" at the time.

i have no idea if i'm in stable or not, but i assume that i am in stable... i'd ask how i would check, but i'd like a thin illusion of average intellegince rather than the utterly stupid person that i am... but i still get the spores, the other shrooms just don't die from the cloud whether i'm cutting on an acid shroom or a deep shroom. so... maybe just a benefial bug.

Sounds like a beneficial bug. :) And you're probably in Stable, then - the way to switch between them is on the game's "Properties" window, in your Steam games library. IIRC, it's on the right-hand tab, and when it prompts you for a code just ignore that part.

havent tried since machinery update but in previous it seems the mushrooms can take a about 3 bursts from their fellows so attempting to harvest a full exterior grow bed resulted in me going from over 80hp to waking up back in base.
