Another stalker thread - too bad
If you don't like it, don't post. Has anyone gotten any stalker teeth AT ALL since the Machine Update? There are ZERO stalkers in my latest save that will take metal from you. They just attack instead. Sooo, stalker teeth are pretty much impossible, which means no cyclops, EVER.

I spent 3 hours going from kelp forest to kelp forest, looking for new stalkers thinking I'd somehow "biased" the ones near me. Nope, every single one just attacks, won't take fish or metal. I guess I'll come back next update when survival is actually playable without cheating, like it used to be. Sigh.

Well, i actually DID found stalker tooth, i just think they generate them when you are around, so you should build a base in the kelp forest, where stalkers are, and then sit down on a chair and wait, that'll do the trick, i think.

I found that the easiest way, for me, is to find a place that's decently deep, with 2-3 Stalkers, and just drop several pieces of metal near them. They'll each pull it to "their" place, and poach it from each others' places.

The teeth drop slower than they used to, but they still drop.

I can confirm that this works i did it similar dropped 6 metals near two stalkers and got lots of teeth

Wich is logical, this is freaking teeth, that won't drop each time you bite something.

I found all the teeth I needed in short order. I just kept an eye out for them every time I had to swim through a kelp forest region from the start of the game. If you don't start looking until getting all the blueprints, yeah it could take several hours of grinding.

i will make a guide for medium predators at the weekend just for this update, oro.

please stop the balance threads. it is playable!

i will have some hours on the weekend and make a guide for medium predators for you, pictures, videos, PDA entries, even wrestling entrance music will be in there.

we spoke about it in detail on the first thread. a l2p issue is no balance issue. why can we have stalker farms and survive... and you are ripped apart by single individuals? red alert, man! there is something wrong.

next update THIS predator behaviour will eat through your base hull when you try to skip the night in your virtual bed. how many threads do we need then?

Don't hold it in your hand man, just drop several scrap metal near them and harvest the teeth. Or just look at bottom kelp forest if you see more than 1 scrap metal together that's a sure sign there will be tooth in there.

Dude, stalkers used to make sense. I'm telling you, this change is for the worse. How can the problem be me if the stalkers are what changed? You're right though, I'm going from ragequitting to refund-demanding if stalkers start coming inside your base. Are they so hell bent on making the game completely unplayable?
Vince May 11, 2016 @ 12:18pm
a well internet is making sens as well. lot of sens worldwide ...

Liar. I've spent entire days scouring forests and I have never, ever encountered teeth just sitting there. They are only dropped if you are in the vicinity. They do not spawn in your absence.

Of course I tried that. Sometimes you get lucky, after all. But it's nowhere near guaranteed. Never mind the fact that just cruising the forest, even during the day, looking for "nests" is now 40x more deadly than it used to be.

My biggest criticism of the stalkers has awlays been their numbers, since you can usually only stasis one at a time. If you are a perfect videogame hero with the reflexes of a hyperactive 14-year-old, maybe you can stasis 1, feed a 2nd... and then the other three tear you apart.

So I find myself dodging swarms of angry fish that shouldn't even be up in daylight, looking for hard-to-find nests that usually (always, in my current save anyway) have zero teeth in them.

Why am I playing again? Balance is about progress vs. frustration. When it's so easy to make zero progress for huge amounts of frustration, there is a real balance issue, I'm sorry, but they need to admit it and revert the damned predator behavior. I CANNOT be the only one finding this ridiculously large difference in gameplay.
Pharaoh May 11, 2016 @ 12:27pm
I find most of them in little cubby holes beneath the creep vines where they hang out. Kind of like their nesting areas. In on place I found 5 of them.

But ooh don't call me a liar. Everyone's game is different. It is random for each of us.
