no idea ... tsss tsss ...
P.S. The workaround I use is to fill up my inventory with fruit whenever I don't want to collect something.
1. Build a wall locker[subnautica.wikia.com] in a random spot.
2. Name it Trash.
3. Fill it with your trash.
4. Deconstruct the locker.
5. See #1.
I feel embarrassed admitting I did not think of that, despite being able to work out I could deconstruct the aquariums when they became too full. Thank you.
Surprisingly this works perfectly. However It seems more like an exploit of an overlooked detail in container deconstruction and if I were a dev I'd end up fixing it in some way. Probably by making the deconstruction fail until you removed items from it (don't want players accidentally deleting a bunch of things they DO want to keep!).
I really do wish they'd give us a deconstructor or incinerator or something for us to throw junk into. Since we can rearrange molcules(or is it atoms? I always confuse the two) into things via the faricator, It would make sense that we could deconstruct salt and store it in highly efficient form in a 'matter storage array'. This could operate similiar to the pattern buffer concept used in star trek. It's not useable until you refrabricate it, but in the meantime it's stored in a more compact form instead of filling up a locker. Energy would be required to convert it back, however.
Sounds like something I should add to my proposals thread.

Is already in place. It takes long enough holding down the mouse button to deconstruct allowing you to consider what you are deconstructing and stop just by lifting a finger.
A modified Bioreactor[subnautica.wikia.com] would get my vote for a disposal system.
