A subnutica dream? the weirdest post i've ever made.
For someone who puts as many hours as i do into games on a daily basis its suprising rare for me to have a dream/nightmare that relate to the games i play so much. What makes this dream even more unusual than the fact its centered on a game is that said game i havn't played (or even thought about) in at least two months and the fact it was a dream and not a nightmare. I always figured if i had a subnautica based experience in my sleep it would be a nightmare due to the fact i suffer from agrophobia or whatever its called where deep water evokes great anxiety, this wasn't the case. The final weird thing is that even three days later i can still remember it vividly, on with the really weird post then:

It starts with me in the safe shallows or some area like that exept the safe shallows here are like 50m down rather than 10. The water is really clear and i can see for quite some distance and the sun lights up the enviroment around me, so i could see as well as one might on land but i was underwater. The anxiety of agrophobia is there but it's slight, in the background and it stays this way throughout the dream but it never goes away. So, my dreams are normally a mixture of unusual and outright weird, this is where it gets weird. I think about how this looks so normal and natural so i then think "thats nothing look at this!", I turn around and there is a large town. As in like a large town on the flat sandy landscape, underwater. All the buildings looked in good condition, no wear or rust or broken windows or overgrowth (all of which defies both lore and reality but NVM). I eagerly begin exploring swimming at street level when i spot some other divers nearby, i hide behind a postbox or something and watch them approach a minivan-sized container that i somehow knew was from the aurora. The divers were part of the organisation that had shot the aurora down and had identifed what the package contained to be top of the line military grade nukes. They then go off to their HQ to report their findings and i forget that they were ever there the moment they are gone.
Now i run low on oxygen, i dive into my seamoth i suddenly find right next to me but my vision is still getting darker. I rise to the surface and everything is ok, "stale air" i say in my dream. I head back down and abandon my seamoth, now its more like im walking and running rather than swimming but in low gravity as i can jump ontop of buildings and stuff. I work my way towards the edge of town, now i'm dodging these large mech things as big as the 3-4 story buildings around me but i lose them. I find this town has a coast with a second water line, "an ocean under an ocean? the devs really need to work on these bugs". Then i woke up.

From this it is clear what i remember most from subnutica:
1.exploration
2.agrophobia
3.weird/rediculous story concepts/theorys
4.bugs and glitches
5.massive monsters

the only reasons i posted this was to get a reaction from the community and to get it off my mind. now to unsubscribe and try to forget i ever posted this.

Do a Google search on "lucid dreaming video games" and read dozens of articles on how gaming has an unusually large impact on how we dream - usually in a good way.

Yah studies have shown that you're far more likely to have a pleasant game-related dream than a nightmare.

You're not re-living what your in-game character is doing (good or bad), you're re-living the fun *you* had playing the game.

So even if it's a scary game, your brain knows that it's only a game and that you are enjoying the scares.
