New game, new starting point?
Okay, so after goofing off a little and wasting a ton of resources being stupid/new; I decided I'd start a new game. Fantastic and all.

Except when I hopped out of the lifepod I discovered I'm in a place not at all like it was on my first game. To my knowledge there has not been any update or anything.

I have been led to beileve that the map is static. Does the spawn point change, did I miss an update, or is something else going on? I've got a huge pit between me and the aurora now, which suggests to me I'm actually closer to the aurora than I was previously. Being a person terrified of the idea of giant things I can't kill(reapers), this would be qualified as a big problem I think. Am I right to be concerned, or is the map more fluid than I was led to believe?

I could be wrong here, but as far as I know... The spawn point is random per save, and the loot locations are also dynamic'ish, meaning stuff is generally in the same area, but not exactly the same spot. All is well, if you don't like your location, start a new game!

Okay, so the precise starting location as well as loot locations are fluid; but the actual map isn't, then? I'm a little too close to the Reaper-hell for my liking, but I guess I'll hafta make do for now. *shudder*

after starting 30 or so games, all spawns are in the same biome but different locations within the biome.

If you really don't like your starting location and don't want to start over you can always push the pod to a new location either by swimming against it or (if you happen to have a Seamoth) driving up to it and pushing it with the Seamoth (note your Seamoth will take damage during this so it's best to have a Welder handy for repairs).
