The floating island is a critical early game stop. It has everything a player needs to get a grip on survival and go exploring.

Remove the fog.

Let new players know what all is vets know.

Keeping the fog does nothing except unnecessarily frustrate new players.

It makes things easier. But honestly you can explore quite well without it...?

I've avoided going there in this game to see how that would play out, I even avoided using the seamoth depth upgrade on the Aurora or using a multipurpose room and I got to a Cyclops and such okay.

This is true. I am new to it, a week in about 25 hours in freedom mode. Playing story line by following radio messages. But I never got any hint about going to floating island. I didnt make it there until 15 hours into my first game. The MP room was a vital find.
